[USA] Cargo fell from this truck and hit me — any help identifying it?
I’m posting this because I honestly don’t know what else to do.
On June 13, I was driving north on I-35E near Belt Line Road in Lancaster, Texas, when a large bag fell from the flatbed truck shown in the video. It came directly into my lane, and I had almost no time to react.
I hit the bag, my car was badly wrecked, and I barely managed to pull over safely. The truck continued driving and never stopped.
My car is now wrecked, completely non-operational (won't even start) and had to be towed. This has left me without a vehicle and dealing with a very serious financial loss.
To make the situation worse, my insurance had lapsed while I was in the process of getting a driver’s license renewed and restoring the policy. I want to be completely clear: I know that part was my responsibility, and I am not blaming anyone else for not having the proper coverage in place at that moment. I deeply regret it =(
At the same time, the accident itself happened because cargo fell from this truck directly into my path, and I am hoping there is still some way to identify it.
My dashcam clearly shows the bag falling from the truck, but unfortunately the license plate and company name are too far away to read. I filed a police report and provided the footage but my hopes are very low there, so far no useful leads have come from the investigation.
I’m hoping someone here may recognize something in the video or notice a detail that I missed. Any help, observation, idea, or suggestion would honestly mean a lot to me
