M60 J17 -> J18 crash

This happened a few weeks ago and i’ve been on the fence about posting it as i’m 99% certain i’m gonna get told i made it worse by over reacting.. but just to let you know im 19, just over a year of driving and never had so much as a scrape.

This happened just as the J18 improvement works began and they had blocked the hard shoulder which prompted me to put the phone down on my mother and hold down the sos button in the car to get help.

Looking back, i don’t know if holding down that SOS button (or getting angry at it taking forever) was the right call, but it’s in the past now.

Somehow, i only had cosmetic damage, and the rear bumper bar thing (not a mechanic, metal thing behind the plastic bumper) was completely intact.

Happy to take any advice on what you think i should’ve done differently / if you think i did something right :)

[USA] Cargo fell from this truck and hit me — any help identifying it?

I’m posting this because I honestly don’t know what else to do.

On June 13, I was driving north on I-35E near Belt Line Road in Lancaster, Texas, when a large bag fell from the flatbed truck shown in the video. It came directly into my lane, and I had almost no time to react.

I hit the bag, my car was badly wrecked, and I barely managed to pull over safely. The truck continued driving and never stopped.

My car is now wrecked, completely non-operational (won't even start) and had to be towed. This has left me without a vehicle and dealing with a very serious financial loss.

To make the situation worse, my insurance had lapsed while I was in the process of getting a driver’s license renewed and restoring the policy. I want to be completely clear: I know that part was my responsibility, and I am not blaming anyone else for not having the proper coverage in place at that moment. I deeply regret it =(

At the same time, the accident itself happened because cargo fell from this truck directly into my path, and I am hoping there is still some way to identify it.

My dashcam clearly shows the bag falling from the truck, but unfortunately the license plate and company name are too far away to read. I filed a police report and provided the footage but my hopes are very low there, so far no useful leads have come from the investigation.

I’m hoping someone here may recognize something in the video or notice a detail that I missed. Any help, observation, idea, or suggestion would honestly mean a lot to me

[USA] Driver on shoulder swipes tourists car

Second dumb dumb I’ve seen in the last two months speeding on the shoulder. Pulled over to give them the video and it was two tourists from Germany on their last day here in a rental. They were so shook up and it pisses me off that while vacationing here, they have to experience jerks like this. But at least the idiots mirror was smashed as well, hope that was worth it for them. …. And of course there was highway patrol 200 yards up busy pulling someone else over.

Road Rage caught by the Viofo A329T telephoto

Over the weekend I caught some road rage with one driver cutting off another, slamming on his brakes, then getting out to yell at the other driver. The telephoto on the Viofo A329T did an awesome job at helping capture the event. In the full youtube video, I share more detail, including the cop who happened to be right behind me and was there once I pulled over to share the dashcam footage.
