Kids were asking to watch a movie and i was poking around discovery section and saw that there is no way for me to filter an maturity rating. Wondering if that would be a big ask?

Looking for someone with more experience than me. A few years back i rebuilt my trans, unfortunately I was under educated and overly confident. I ended up mixing a 90 center diff with a 91 gear set and cracking the gears. Lost all motivation, decided I would send it off to a buddy whose been in the space for much longer than me. I got the trans back and it's hard to move, obviously I'm paranoid of a repeat but I'm curious if it's possible because he did a poor job shimming, shimming too tight. Does that mean my bearings are not going to last? Should I crack this thing open and double check it all?
