Is it logical to go with 10 percent instead 20 percent deposit for buying a house

I have 90000 saving and wife has 40000. We want to buy 650k house. I know we need to have an emergency fund. However, due to high saving every month that is not a big issue. Anyway what do you do if you were on my shoes? Do you start with 10 percent and aggressively reduce principal to reach 20 or go with higher percentage from start?

BNZ home loan partner left suddenly and I am a bit upset of this behavior

Hello,

I just finalized my home contract and wanted to email bnz loan partner to start the process from Monday. I already had contact with her. Suddenly I got an email that she is on leave for 5 weeks and gave another email of another person. I don't like this behavior and I want to go with mortgage advisor to see which banks suit or even directly go with the bank directly. Is that Ok? Legally and morally?

Can I stop continuing the process with her? We sent our documents to her but did not sign any agreement or anything else though we have had several emails.

What is your suggestion?

Honda fit engine stall

Hello,

Yesterday while driving my Honda Fit, the car suddenly lost power and I could not accelerate, so I had to pull over. Luckily, I had enough space to do so safely. At that time, the check engine light came on.

This has only happened a few times before — once about a year ago and once about four months ago. On those occasions, I thought it might have been because I pushed the accelerator very hard (just for fun!), which may have caused a sensor issue, as the car stopped responding temporarily. After turning the car off and restarting it, the problem went away.

However, yesterday was different because I was driving normally and not accelerating hard. The check engine light came on, the car lost power, and I had to pull over. I was doing deliveries, so I needed to start the car again shortly after. When I restarted it, the light was still on, and after a few minutes of driving, the same problem happened again. This repeated about three times, and finally the light turned off and the car started working normally again.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, and what would be the cheapest way to check it? I live in the Upper Hutt area. I use the car every day for deliveries, so I’d like to get it checked soon. Hopefully it’s not a serious problem.

Building inspection

Newly built house 1.5 years ago I saw a horizontal crack. Agent claimed that this could be normal and it should not be a structural issue. Could I tell building inspector to check it before he is going to check? What if they say it is normal?! I heard that the house has insurance for 10 years so should the vendor fix it? I do not need only plaster if there is any issue
