he always hangs out up there because he can see me better

i installed a neg pressure extension on my boy’s tank, it was meant for my goldfish but the clamps were too short for the tank rim. perfect on here though, for the most part! he LOVES it and whenever im in the kitchen he likes watching me from there

yes its a bit jury rigged lol i may move it to the corner, but that’s where the filter is :(

edit: his name is f-16 and his arch nemesis is dry erase markers

cleaned up the tank, new plants

got some new plants and got the hang of planting them. did a deep clean of the tank because i kept finding chunks of tetra (pink psycho in the photo killed 2 of my tetras before i could get em out. rip) and i couldn’t get the all muck off the bottom. removed all the fake decor because i think he was starting to rip his tail up on them.

hopefully i can get the muck out with a turkey baster. but how’s it look so far?

Shubunkin jumped out of tank…

I opened the lid to put some pellets in, I must have startled him because he DARTED out of the tank and fell 5 feet. It was a pretty nasty sounding smack. I quickly got him back in the tank and he was in the corner gasping for a few minutes until my other fish started swimming in the corner too. He moved away and now he’s swimming around in the tank…his balance seems to be ok. He’s not bleeding. Seems to interact with stuff fine…

It scared the crap out of me. I’m surprised he’s still alive…what should I be looking for the next 24h? I’m really worried :( this has never happened to me before

Is my goldfish fat 😭

He’s a chunky boy but now noticeably bigger than when i got him back in April…maybe grew an inch. But as of late he looks a bit stout around the middle. Is this a normal looking weight for goldfish or should i start feeding every other day?

He’s currently sitting at about 6.5-7 inches long! Healthy and swims around all day. Loves surfing the bubblers and never misses a meal. Doesn’t seem lethargic at all

Era appropriate for 1860-1890 range?

Hi, I recently joined a historical reenactment group which focuses on the styles worn from a post-civil war to 1892 range. I thought this outfit was super cute but the sleeves seem more Edwardian than Victorian, as well as the buttons on the skirt. I've seen a few women wear vests in photos that say they're from 1890 but I wasn't too sure. It seems a bit difficult to find anything that's not a full on walking suit.

Could the sleeves be altered? I'm in love with this color scheme, but I also want it to be historically accurate. I'm able to do basic alterations by hand and possibly on a sewing machine if it helps making it more 'period accurate' to that (broad) range of time.

If it's way too Edwardian then I will definitely have to part with it...oh well. But wanted to ask y'all first. I'm still new to my reenactment group so I'm kind of shy about asking them outright so I wanted to test the waters with y'all first.

Thanks :)
