Need US History Gen Ed credit? Like games?

Do YOU still need to take the US history general education course? GAME 103 - Representation and Identity in Games was put aside for our freshmen, but it has more seats! Friday 12:00-2:30PM. It will count for US Experience and it's Diversity! You can take this instead of normal US history! It is consent locked, so let me know ASAP if you want to take it.

Email: kwillsumdenstock@ccny.cuny.edu with your EMPL to be added to the course.

There is one smaller essay, one presentation, and one final paper. Outside of that, there are weekly readings and/or videos that we discuss in class.

Want to publish a game on steam and get college credit?

Hey all! I'm here advertising a year-long program open to all CUNY students based at CCNY in any major that have elective credits to spare. We have 4 sections that run for 3.5 hours on Fridays between the hours of 3PM-9PM (placement dependent on your discipline and experience, accommodations made for religious observance). CUNY students that do not go to CCNY can register on epermit, meaning you can have it count as a normal class.

You will participate in a 40+ person development team and placed into a department similar to the workflow of a professional studio. We are looking for game designers, engineers, artists, composers/sound designers, writers, project managers, and more. No direct game development experience is required, as long as you have something transferrable related to your intended discipline. Artists are expected to learn to 3D model, there are no pure-2D roles.

Here is the full list of undergrad majors at CUNY that are compatible with the program: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oe3NzVZv8e8tDBwqG0X1LLjYl2OvGw_ePcytYPAP9_o/edit?usp=sharing

There are monthly required field trips (all free) on either Saturday or Sunday (your choice).

There is also a professional development component. We help you apply to internships and opportunities that will help further your career, regardless of industry. We also have games industry guest speakers that come in roughly every other week to offer advice.

Inquire within, because CUNYFirst will not let you register on your own for the course. I have to manually add you to it. You can DM me, or shoot an email to kwillsumdenstock@ccny.cuny.edu with your EMPL for more information.
