The lectures are boring. How do you guys find a way to prepare for exams/quizzzes without attending lectures?

Before it was the nac 6th floor incident.

Now a couple in my class was having fun.
Bro if you that desperate bring her to your home or dorm if u dorm.

Couple in my class, the boy literally had his hand in her shirt pressing her Cheries man.

After the class they went to library and he made the girl sit on him and he had his hand in her Shirt.

This isn’t even the worst part bc some girl that was siting her 2 tables farther from them tried to record them but accidentally had flashlight on camera when she started recording and she left the library.

Bro like just come on and get a dam private room.

I feel like a 60 overall brown shirt in here

As the title says, I sincerely regret taking two classes this semester. I’m taking math 19000 and a speech course. The speech course is fine, but the math is where I’m struggling at. I keep making tiny mistakes, I only passed one quiz and everything else I failed. I studied for hours for the first exam, and I failed that because of tiny mistakes.

I’m stressed out. I haven’t been in school since 2018 and I thought two classes would be okay, but clearly it isn’t. Also with the stress of having to find a job so I don’t lose my Medicaid next year due to the new work requirements of the Big Beautiful Bill, I’m not okay. 😭🫠 I honestly wished I didn’t listen to my advisor when he said that I could take two classes cause I knew math isn’t my strong suit, and I really wished that was the only class I could worry about. Cause even though my speech class is fine, it’s still a stressor having to do speeches.

Part of me wants to drop math 19000 and try again next semester, and only have it be that one class I take. 🫠😭

Im not gonna lie. I went to this job fair today and it was so shitty. Was it just me that felt that way? Here I thought I was going to get good information, but majority of these companies had people that did not know how to explain things or just don't have any internships/jobs to offer. I genuinely feel like CCNY should invest or at least look for companies that are designed for the majors offered here. One of the companies thought we had an Accounting major and was surprised when he found out we don't. Lesson of the day: Just continue to apply for jobs and internships on your own, or use the office of student success cause wtf was this.

I wanted to ask this question for a long time. Is anybody taking MAT31246, Applied Linear Algebra? How is that course? It’s supposed to be similar to MAT34600, but this one offers lab work? Is the course running this semester and how many students are in this class?

The walking speed of students this semester has gotten noticeably slower. Please pick up the pace. Some of us have places to be. Some of us have classes to get to. Some of us would simply like to arrive at our destination sometime this calendar year.

I’ve been at CCNY for seven semesters, and I have genuinely never encountered such a large concentration of slow walkers. I’m talking about entire groups moving at a speed that makes me question whether people are actually going to class or participating in a tour of the campus. Why are y’all moving like this now? Please increase your walking velocity.

And yes, I understand life happens. Maybe you’re tired, injured, or simply not in a hurry. Fair enough. Not everyone needs to walk like they’re being chased.

But please, for the love of getting to class, if you’re going to walk slowly, MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE WALKWAY.

There is nothing more spiritually challenging than trying to get around a group of four people walking shoulder to shoulder at approximately 0.7 mph while somehow taking up the entire width of the sidewalk.

You don’t have to be a fast walker. Just give the rest of us a lane.

I hope I’m not the only one who deals with anxiety of public speaking. But I have no other option but to take SPCH 11100. wanted to know if I take the course online, do I still have to give any in-person speech on campus? The course catalog says each student should have at least one performance recorded at the TV/Media center. Can I get an idea about that? Can I record it at home if I take the course online?

Can some people make any attempt to air themselves out before going in a classroom? Go ahead smoke and as much as you want idc but PLEASE do not bring that smell in the classroom 😭 or like any small enclosed space in general. please i do not wanna breathe that in and i’m sure i’m not the only one

I’ve been here for about a year and this college makes me so miserable idk if it’s just me or the school, I epermit a lot of my courses Bcz this shit sucks. Honestly the best campus has to be either BCC, or Lehman they actually help thier students. All city college has going on for them is architecture and Grove, even then shit sucks

While it has its issues I love the fact that I could eat, sleep, do nothing on campus and no one bats an eye. everyones too busy and worried about themselves to care about me or anything i do and the campus has a multitude of people from different backrounds and statuses. i can just chill in the library and study, I know the libraries are pretty run down but they aren't THAT bad most people don't even pay tuition anyway so its not like a "getting what you paid for" thing. I can print whatever I want or check out a book or access the computers. Theres a gym for me to use at any point in the day I'm free (or I can just skip class and go no ones gonna check) theres food options nearby or in the cafeteria, theres a shuttle bus to take me to the train stops so I don't have to walk. Theres tutoring offered, also the writing center and career institute. Theres mental health resources, an immigration center, a food pantry if i ever needed one. Best of all neither me or my parents have to pay a dime for me to attend college, I get money instead and hopefully a degree. I hated high school but college doesn't seem so bad (excluding whatever hard or weed out classes I have to take of course but just the concept of going to a CUNY and beggars can't be choosers)

I know CUNYS relative to other institutions aren't the best, but given the underfunding and the demographic it serves. I'm glad to go to one.

Does anyone have any good resources or playlists for differential equations besides Professor Leonard? I have Popvassilev and have no idea what he is talking about most of the time lol

I‘ve also found Jhevon Smith videos to be pretty good, but I would love to know some more

I heard people say advising stuff has started, but all i see in my email related to it is ONE STOP saying it’s advising month and to make an appointment using the given link. When i use the link all of the appointment options do not take me to any relevant thing i need, or the advisor im supposed to have. I am electrical engineering major btw. I’m pretty it worked differently last year or semester than this.
