hello, I already got my id classes etc. just asking if it’s worth going atp? thank you!

Hi guys. I applied for Excelsior last year and got accepted. (It was from the Dream Act, not HESC, and with TAP, not FAFSA). When I received my Scholarship, I remember that it didn't show in the 'Financial aid' tab in CUNYFirst until very late in the Fall semester. But everything went fine, I didnt get dropped from my classes or anything.

The thing is that now the aid is again not showing for this year, and I just received an email saying that I would get dropped by Thrusday if I don't pay. I thought the story was going to just repeat itself until I saw that email, so I started panicking.

To be completely sure, the only requirement is to re-apply for TAP, right? I also know the residential and credits requirement, in which the only possible case for me to not be eligible is that I am 1 physics class behind of what I should be (im a physics major). But still I received no notice or anything telling me that im no longer eligible for Excelsior. In fact, the 31st of July I received a notice that my college updated my information about financial aid, but for the 2025-2026 year????? And my TAP DOES show in the Financial aid tab, but not Excelsior.

Does anyone know a way to check the status of my aid? Or at least to know if I won't get it? I will be going to the Financial Aid Office tomorrow, even though I just got the email and the earliest I can make an appointment is by Thursday, the exact day the email said I would be dropped from classes. Has anyone gone through this?

For some reason I don’t have access to my citymail account on outlook when I try to login. Has anyone experienced this recently.

i’m a new student for chemE going into sophomore year and they realllyyy want me to attend orientation on my birthday 😭 is there anything especially important that i’m missing if i don’t attend? they aren’t even distributing id’s that day. i already have my email activated and my classes all set.

I'm currently trying to gauge my odds of getting accepted to Civil Engineering at Grove. My undergrad (Psych) GPA is 3.0 and grad (unfinished) 3.5, never really failed any science courses but did get C- in Bio 12 years ago. My question is, does that C- disqualify me no matter how well I do in my pre reqs?
I still need to take calculus, chemistry and physics as pre reqs.

Was anyone in similar situation and still managed to get in?

Good evening everyone! I just found out I got placed into math 190 as an electrical engineering major and I don't know what to do. How should I go about this and what classes should I take to get into the grove school as early as I can (I know I'll have to wait an extra semester at least) but I feel totally lost now. Any help is appreciated!

Anyone have Wendell Lissimore for Math 201 for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7:40 pm? And anyone who’s had him before what’s your experience with him? Have a lot of people done bad in his class? I heard he’s apparently an Adjunct Professor?

Hey everyone, I started a brand during my freshman year, and with the new school year coming up I’ve been working with a few friends to help them make some extra money by creating content for it. It’s been going pretty well, so I figured I’d open it up to a few more students.

I’m looking for people who can consistently make short 15 - 30 second videos. You don’t need a following or any content creation experience. I provide examples of what to make, and you’d create new TikTok and Instagram accounts specifically for the content.

Pay is performance based at $2 per 1,000 views. So if your videos collectively get 1M views, you’d make $2,000.

It’s pretty flexible and you can post around your class schedule. You can basically post as many times as you want a day but I try to post twice a day so the algorithm doesn’t think I am spamming.

Hi everyone, I’m a rising sophomore at Binghamton University and I’m considering transferring to CCNY (grove). My main reasons are:

- being in NYC for internships and jobs (biggest one for me)
- cost (I would save a lot of money living at home)
- quality, I’m not really satisfied with the quality of engineering facilities and professors at Binghamton. I hear that professors and facilities at CCNY are not super great either, but I’m assuming it’s roughly the same

The main cons are that I would need to commute an hour 15. I would like to ask some questions to current CCNY students

- how are the professors and class timeslots (are they flexible)
- how are the engineering facilities (like free use 3d printers?)
- are there job fairs where companies come to CCNY to recruit?
- does school name really matter for engineering

By the way, I’ll be transferring around 50 credits. I have calc 1-2 completed, physics 1-2, chemistry 1-2, some engineering classes. Calc 3 I’m taking this upcoming semester. My major is Electrical Engineering.

Hey all! I'm here advertising a year-long program here at CCNY, open to all CUNY students in any major that have elective credits to spare. We have 4 sections that run for 3.5 hours on Fridays between the hours of 3PM-9PM (placement dependent on your discipline and experience, accommodations made for religious observance).

You will participate in a 40+ person development team and placed into a department similar to the workflow of a professional studio. We are looking for game designers, engineers, artists, composers/sound designers, writers, project managers, and more. No direct game development experience is required, as long as you have something transferrable related to your intended discipline. For context: took a gap semester last semester and am coming back for this Fall. However, when I went in to double check to info, I realized that Pell and TAP no longer cover my entire tuition and I owe quite a bit of money. I applied for Excelsior when I realized that was an option and am wondering if I'm cooked... and if the money will be distributed when the semester starts this end of August 😭

i just watched spider man brand new day and his swag is top tier. i need to get like him but on a ccny level. how do i get some ccny merch for cheap cause im not paying $50+ for a weak a** t-shirt.

i recently found out i owe some money out of pocket, this is totally new for me. i went to financial aid and bursar and there’s no way around it unless a scholarship goes through (im applying). everyone is telling me to just ignore the charge and they’ll end up dropping it but i got an email saying they’re gonna start dropping people.

i feel overwhelmed and i feel like i should just get a payment plan and get it over with but this quikpay thing is confusing (im just dumb) and im scared im doing the wrong thing. idk. im going out of the country tomorrow and i dont want to worry about this and find ive been dropped from my classes. but i’m also scared i wont get anymore financial aid. i don’t know
