Sam's Band Guck

I know there was a post 12 days ago about this but only 3 comments and they deserve more engagement!

They're really good! It's noise rock and the vocalist does kinda like riot grrl vocals which understandably can be an immediate no go for a lot of people, but if you even remotely like that kind of stuff you should check em out, at least get them above 100,000 listens per song on Spotify!

Closest comp I can think of is this band Prostitute , who are a band from Dearborn Michigan.

I feel like I am being gaslight into thinking I have autism

I am a 40 year old guy. I'm a high achiever and I don't have issues with daily tasks. I can get along with basically everyone I meet. I can be very funny and charming.

I do get frustrated with how people act, how people don't follow the rules, about injustice. I can get fixated on things, but I don't relate to many of the items on the diagnostic criteria as well.

My biggest problems come with communication with my wife f40. I can tell her exactly what my emotional needs are and she is able to respond with a lot of things that are similar but not actually what I need. This causes huge problems. We've had many couples counselors over the years and the most recent one I had respected a lot and we've been seeing for like 2 years. I have bent over backwards trying to change how I act to give my wife what she needs emotionally, but when it comes to me explaining what I need, or trying to get my wife and the counselor to understand what I need, they never seem to understand. This leads to a lot of frustration for everyone, because they dont understand me and then also I am just spending so much time on these things it apparently seems like im being like petty or too ultra specific.

Recently there was a conflict between my wife and I and it seemed like she was being intentionally withholding because I was telling her exactly what I needed and she was saying all sorts of things except repeating what I needed back to me. We explained this to the counselor and I thought for sure they would tell her to just tell me what I was asking for but the counselor said she was telling me what I was asking for, even though it wasn't!

That was a few weeks ago and since then I've been so down. My wife and couples counselor and even my own therapist seem convinced that I have autism. I really dont relate to what you guys usually talk about, so I dont really think thats what is going on with me. I feel like I am being pushed to think that I have autism as a way to get me to stop looking for what I need, to try to tell me that my thoughts are not as valid becuase mine are autistic thoughts. I feel like this is being used and excuse to frame me as an "other" so that my needs can be more officially dismissed.

I am having a very hard time continuing. I don't feel safe at home. I have 2 small kids that are the only thing keeping me going. I dont feel like it would be safe to check myself into an institution, I have been to rehab and been through that type of institution in that sense and I know that that will not help me. I dont know what to do or who to talk to. I feel like no one takes me seriously. I dont know where I can get help.

Edit- I appreciate all the comments. I guess I dont really think im being gaslit, I think im just spiraling because my life seems totally lost at the moment. maybe I do have pda autism. I really do appreciate it. I feel heard for first time in a while.
