My summer in 1-bit
This mini series of 1bit drawings is based on mundane moments from my life during the recent summer months. I’ve been working on this style lately and been enjoying a lot.
Software: Aseprite
Size: 300x300 px for all 8 (enlarged by 400% before posting)
Method: I start with with fully drawing the outlines and using dithering patterns for shading after the drawing is done.
The drawing part is straight forward I draw with one pixel brush using both drawing tablet and the mouse. I also add a perspective grid before starting If I think it's necessary .The dithering patterns are done by custom brushes and I fill the spaces by painting with the dithering or filling up empty spaces with bucket tool (with the dithered brush.) Combining two dithering brushes can create more unique patterns. I also used the gradient tool for dithering.
