I was doing some solo voyages and got a decent amount of treasure when I spotted a player sloop. I turned away to run to the nearest outpost.

They then kept following me for 30mins so I decided f it and backboarded with a gunpowder barrel which crippled them for a few mins.

At this point I was pretty far away from an outpost so sailed to the closest one only to spot the same ship AGAIN chasing me.

This proceeded for hours before a meg and Skelton fleet spawned and sunk me right outside port merick all my loot was floating in the water.

Exactly after I sunk they just sailed away essentially wasting hours of everyone’s time and didn’t even take my loot when I sunk. I’m baffled at the decision making process
