Bad Girl Val

I’ve lost count how many times Val has lost her mind or her memory on this show. 😂 But this iteration of Val losing it is sending me. 😭😭😭

Funniest scene in KL?

I’m a first time watcher and I’ve enjoyed seeing relatable humor throughout this dishy soap. This scene with Karen’s too short skirt in a business setting had me howling. 🤣🤣🤣 Been there, done that.

What are the funniest scenes you’ve noticed?

Mullets Part 2

I previously posted about voting on the best female mullet and got some great responses. But friends, this buried jewel takes the cake!! S7 E10 Cathy Rush’s wardrobe assistant that we see for a nanosecond.

From my previous post, I think Val won the A-list mullet award. But surely this unnamed assistant wins the B-list!!??

Best 80s Female Mullet??

Who wore it best??

Better yet, who actually had a mullet back then? I had a version of a mullet in 7th grade. 🫣

Use of classical music in Knots Landing

I’ve noticed how classical music is frequently used throughout the show. It’s played during family dinners, sexy fireside scenes, in restaurants etc. For example, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons was used in one episode.

I’ve found this really refreshing. I wonder if they did that bc it was free to use in the show or for aesthetic purposes. Either way, I’ve loved it and it’s made me want to add some classical vinyls to my collection.

Anybody else notice or appreciate this?

(I’m a first time watcher and midway through season 6.)

Pivot from neighborly drama to peak 80s soap

The first 3 seasons reminded me of an 80s version of This Is Us(family/relationship driven), then it took a hard turn toward prime time soapy 80s melodrama.

I really liked seeing how neighbors were portrayed in the first 3 seasons. It seems people don’t know their neighbors that well these days. That was really nostalgic.

I’m in my early 50s so never saw the show growing up. I’m at the beginning of season 5 now. This is fun and painful at the same time. I don’t know what’s more painful— the bad hair, the constant yelling, or women enabling bad male behavior. But the fun is just romping down a cultural gestalt memory lane.
