First Post, take 2

Apologises for putting a link to the photo instead of just the image.

Fairly old wargamer who was never happy with the "4 men walking a flag about a field" visual aspect of the hobby. For the first 20 years I dropped scale while increasing the figure count but was never really happy until landing on 2mm (1:900) scale in 1999.

I stayed there using metal figures until a couple of years back when others started producing digital files for the 2mm community. Earlier this year a New Zealand fella released a range of 3mm Medieval files; Harley McPhee AKA Wozname on Thingiverse.

Photo is my Scots Common Army of the 13th/14th century.

If anyone would like to see more, I have also printed and painted Feudal English, Irish, Islemen and I'm currently working on a Welsh army

First Post. Will keep it short.

Wargamer for 40+ years, printer owner for 2 years.

Sadly I'd did precious little printing in that time, mainly due to a lack of suitable models. I moved to 2mm scale end of last century, back then it was uncommon. Thankfully times change and I'm even more thankful for the work of Harley MacPhee over in New Zealand; "wozname" on Thingiverse.

Photo shows my Scots Common Army using Harley's 3mm designs.

Caterans at the front, Islesmen behind, 1000 pikemen in the centre with knights and sergeants on the wings.

Complete Novice. How do I create something similar?

As header says, how would I go about making a similar model.

I have 6 .stl files of spearmen with different equipment. They come as strips of 12 identical models.

My goal is to take one model from each strip, make 15 copies of them then arrange them in a semi-regular fashion on a base.

I think I should manage to cut just one model from the strips but must I arrange them manually or is there a random arranging tool ?

TIA

David
