What was your funniest misunderstanding while playing Danganronpa?

Mine was Ryoma being a table tennis player.

Obviously, the game doesn’t say it. I just assumed it, and I realized it wasn’t like that when I saw his splash art. Later I realized that I simply assumed it because of his height 😭

what escape ideas and dumb solutions did the characters overlook?

Okay. Since my last post here got a lot of interaction, I figured it was worth making another one like it.

[Sorry for any translation errors. This is automatically translated from Spanish to English. So, if I talk like a bot, it’s just because of that 😭]

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m writing a game inspired by Danganronpa, and I’m putting a LOT of effort into the writing of my project. Because of that, I’m interested in hearing ideas about things that would logically happen, or noticing some of those “plot holes” in Danganronpa that make you think, “Dude, just try this.” This will help me write the story better and avoid having nonsensical events happen within my own killing game.

So, I want to ask: what are some things you feel the characters never tried, or didn’t explore deeply enough?

Just to clarify, it doesn’t necessarily have to be something that would actually work. For example, I’m surprised none of the Danganronpa 2 characters tried building a small boat to escape the island, >!even though we know it wouldn’t have worked because they were inside the Neo World Program!<. However, given the events shown in Danganronpa 2, it’s completely logical for someone to at least think of that as a possible escape route.
I also feel like they took the fact that their classroom literally COLLAPSED and they suddenly appeared on a beach way too naturally. Like, their confusion lasted for maybe ten minutes of gameplay.
And let’s not forget how ridiculously oblivious this cast is when it comes to Monomi, who is actively trying to HELP them, yet they barely try to get any information out of her >!(even after it’s revealed that she has a CONNECTION TO THE FUTURE FOUNDATION)!<

And this has nothing to do with an escape as such. But a friend, after playing Danganronpa THH, also added that what the game WANTS students to think is a little unrealistic. In other words: if you think about it, it is extremely unlikely that someone will murder first, since in the situation posed by Danganronpa one would possibly begin to have a delirium that he is in a “heavy television joke” and would not dare to literally commit a crime under such a bizarre context. If you don’t commit a murder in your day to day, you do will LESS in an unknown place without knowing what is happening.

Basically, tell me: what moments in Danganronpa made you think the characters weren’t using their heads enough? Or, more importantly, what would YOU reasonably try to do if you were kidnapped and thrown into a killing game?

what are some stupidly simple ways the characters could’ve fucked with the killing game’s rules?

Just really dumb technicalities that Danganronpa’s characters somehow never thought of despite being trapped in a murder game.
For example, I thought two people could cooperate and set up something that randomly decides which one of them counts as the culprit, without either of them knowing who was chosen. For example, let’s say that two people light a room, killing someone by fire. There would be no way to know whose fire specifically killed the victim.
So now even the actual murderers don’t know who the culprit is and the class trial is basically fucked. YIt would be logical for two people to agree on this, since it would imply that both have a 50% chance of getting out alive (and it is better than anything else in a situation like this). The person cannot betray you in the middle of the trial by not knowing 100% who the real murderer is, they could even simply confess and even so it would be impossible to solve!

What are some things you think the characters could’ve just done that would’ve completely screwed over the killing game?

(Yes, I’m looking for inspiration for the murders of my fanganronpa. Any idea that I find interesting, I will ask for permission before taking it!)
