I dont like the direction the new buffs are heading in.
This is specifically about Yae but mostly applies to all the other buffed units as well.
I'll start with this: I don't want to get Sandrone.
They changed her element, removed Polunia and made her a Neuvillette clone with harsher teambuilding restrictions. Thats my choice and I stick by it.
So reading Yae's buffs and seeing every single one of her damage buffs be locked behind the Stellarconduct field just rubs me the wrong way, especially considering Stellarconduct seems to be exclusivly locked behind new Sneznahyan 5stars.
And its not like the other buffs are bad in the slightest, they're actually fucking insane! Having 24s uptime on turrets and burst not destroy the turrets is already fixing basically all the QoL issues I had with her, and the con selector lets us get her c1 for free with helps her energy issues + gives an additional damage buff!
But... thats half of Yae's issues. Powercreep hit genshin harder than ever to the point units released less than a year ago are struggling with the rampant HP inflation & bullshit gimmick checks, and Yae is one of those units that never really had amazing damage in the first place. What use is the QoL if she's still gonna underpreform in the damage department? She's an off-field damage dealer, thats what she does, and your seriously telling me my Yae is still gonna do 2.X levels of damage unless I run her in a team with a specific new 5star? really?
Thats just bait for players to engage with their Stellar shilling. Im "heavily incentivized" (forced) to pull a 5star unit I dont want to "fix" a 5star unit I already had.
And Yae is honestly one of the bigger winners of this buff, she has a team! Cyno and Wriothesley literally don't have an off-fielder Stellar unit to run with, so their buffs are just cosmetic until 7.0 when we'll get more Stellar characters.
And of course all of this could be fixed if they release more accesible Stellarconduct units in the future, which is certainly a possibility, but I have my doubts. We've all already seen the "formula" they set up with lunar reactions: 1 on fielder, 1 off fielder, and a "archon" that works for all different lunar reactions.
I sadly believe they'll continue the same formula here, which just means that if you want your buffed units to do anything prepare to pull on at least one of the new units, that doesn't sit right with me. I'd love to be wrong and see that unlike NK they'll allow Snez 4stars to trigger Stellar, or heck maybe even let cryo traveler enable them, but with how greedy Hoyo's been recently thats just blind cope the way I see it.
EDIT to better clarify my issue: In NK, the only characters to engage with Lunar reactions were Lunar enablers themselves, you could run a unit like Nefer without Lauma and still have a Lunar-bloom team. With the introduction of Stellarconduct we're getting character that interact with Stellarconduct but cannot enable that mechanic themselves, their kit is literally incomplete without a different unit on the team.
