Looking to form a small Chennai-based weekend hiking group (Trek Tamil Nadu & Karnataka)

I'm looking to see if there is enough interest to form a small group of folks in Chennai to organize weekend treks and hiking trips together.

What I have in mind:

  • Trek Tamil Nadu Routes: I'm primarily looking to tackle some of the moderate to tough trails listed on Trek Tamil Nadu.
  • Out-of-State Trips: If we get a consistent group going, I’d love to organize drives out to Western Ghats classics like Kumara Parvatha and Kudremukh in Karnataka.
  • Beginner-Friendly Runs: If any first-time hikers want to join, we can start off with a few easier, simple day-treks nearby to break the ice.

Logistics & Cost Sharing:

The idea is to keep groups small and flexible (around 5 members per trek). By driving ourselves to the trailheads, we get way more control over our itinerary and logistics while splitting fuel and travel costs evenly to keep things budget-friendly.

If you're interested, leave a comment below or drop me a DM, and I’ll put a group together to coordinate our first outing!

Organized a dry waste collection drive in our apartment society with SPRECO – here's how it went

From July 23rd to 25th, our local RWA (Resident Welfare Association) teamed up with SPRECO to organize a Dry Waste Collection Drive in our society. The process was super simple and low-friction: 1. We broadcasted a poster on our community WhatsApp group explaining what counts as recyclable dry waste. 2. Residents dropped off their waste at a designated collection spot inside our complex over two days. 3. Today, the scheduled collection day, the SPRECO team came with their vehicle and cleared out all the accumulated waste. Sharing this here to show that getting apartment societies on board with waste segregation isn't as hard as it seems! If you live in a society or gated community in Chennai and want to set up something similar, definitely reach out to SPRECO (https://sprecorecycling.com/) for their next drive. Happy to answer any questions in the comments if anyone wants to do this in their own neighborhood! P.S. The waste is collected free of cost!

WTS - Hawkins Futura 7L Hard Anodised Pressure Cooker (FP7T) – Good Used Condition

Price: ₹2000 Selling my mum’s Hawkins Futura 7-Litre Hard Anodised Pressure Cooker. This is the heavy-duty 6.35 mm thickness model (FP7T), known for being the gold standard of pressure cookers. It was in purchased 2015, and it has been a total workhorse. It still "goes like a tank"—highly reliable, holds pressure perfectly, and cooks evenly thanks to the extra-thick base.

Condition: • Exterior/Interior: Very well-maintained. While there are minor signs of typical use, I cannot find any significant scratches or dents. • Functionality: 100% working condition. The hard-anodised finish makes it non-reactive to food and very easy to clean. Specifications: • Capacity: 7 Litre (Ideal for large families or meal prepping) • Base Thickness: 6.35 mm (Heavy gauge) • Dimensions: 415 x 250 x 265 mm • Weight: 4.2kg

Reason for Selling: My mum finds it hard to use it given it's weight.

Delivery Preferences: Face-to-Face (F2F): Preferred (located in Selaiyur/Tambaram Area). Shipping: Possible if buyer covers costs and it is convenient to arrange.

DM for more pictures.
