Did I face a cheater?

pidgeot (twister, feather dance), azu and bastidon set up at 2200 elo (i dont remember the order) against my altaria, pangoro and stunfisk.

I catch a twister on my U-fisk, he stays in for some strange reason. I tanked about 6 feather dances, correctly shielded 2 twister and as mentioned ate the first. Lost count tbh but he tanked like 5 discharges exept 2 shielded ones and put me at a ~10% remaining hp. Even kept throwing several feather dances after shields went down almost like a BM.

I knew something was wrong here because that pidgeot woulda literally won an impossible matchup if he didnt BM/i hadnt shielded correctly by chance. Still eeked out 2 discharges into an azu he put out there without a care in the world. Again, looked like resisted damage. I go on to lose handsomely, despite correctly investing shields on a stunfisk of all pokemon and catching the right moves. How?

Wish I had recorded.

I would like to play the tournament format of "show 6, choose 3" in PvP

Recently saw a comment mention this and thought it would make the game more strategic and would enable more pokemon in play than the current 3v3 format in a way. This is the standard tournament format for good reasons and it would be really cool if this was a built in feature. Do you agree? And if so could this be pushed for in some way?

Hidden power is one of the most interesting features of pvp and niantic is wasting it by never making it viable.

Pvp isnt amazing design-wise in pokemon go, but the cool thing about it is rarity of pokemon and the unique ways in which you get them. You do timed events for legacy-moves, use limited incense for galarian moltres, trade hatched honedge and virizions for otherwise impossible pvp-ivs, you hunt scarce shadows and change moves with elite tms from routes, mega evolve gengars for sableye XL candies, stop players at the street and ask for regionals, etc.

I cherish a built rare pokemon but lets face it: a 30 rank difference isnt really a huge deal outside of major tournaments. That iv difference would however be critical if it decided the moveset-typing of a pokemon.

Hidden power has almost never been a good move, which is a shame because it squanders a MASSIVE potential aspect of collecting and hunting pokemon.

Please please please buff this move. I don't care if some of your togekiss without the right typing would fall out of the meta: thats the entire point. It should be extremely rare to get THE togekiss, THE suicune (legacy which makes it even more fun). It would be a catastrophe if honedge just spawned wild frequently or galarian moltres came to raids. It should be a grind to get an extremely rare pokemon and anything which further makes rarity a determining factor to who wins should be implimented. Thats what the game is all about.

Hunting ivs is a major interest in the game already and a buff to hidden power would only further expand this hunting.

I was curious if this is a widespread sentiment and if so what it would take for niantic to make the move actually viable.
