Was curious to read Theo Baker’s opinion piece on ChatGPT at Stanford … anyone else find it myopic and excessively cynical?

The anecdotes about friends buying Vegas homes with AI money or openly cheating with AI while on a VC-funded yacht are straight out of a Netflix melodrama. I’m sure this *does* happen at Stanford but is Theo really suggesting these are the common ways his classmates are interacting with AI?

This feels more like a hit piece about degrading values in the student body and institution than a real take on LLM use at Stanford.

Anyone other bitches looking for rental units right now in SF and fighting through this insane housing market? I’ve been hunting for the last month, seriously looking for the last ~10 days.

Good spots at good prices are hosting open houses with crowds of 30 people at a time. Other renters are sending applications sight unseen before first tour dates or applying during tours (literally sitting on the floor with a pen). Zillow posts with 20+ contacts in 2 hours.

We’re seeing LLs offering 1b/1b 650 sq ft un-renovated units in the mission for 4.6k … no parking or utilities included lmao. Or handing out slips of paper asking how many months in advance and how far above the listed rent price applicants are willing to pay.
