From GNOME to COSMIC: Pop!_OS has come a long way
This screenshot was taken about a year ago, on July 6, back when Pop!_OS was still using its customized GNOME desktop.
I've always admired Pop!_OS, mainly because of its excellent hardware support. It was one of the few Linux distributions where almost everything worked out of the box on my laptop, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable.
When COSMIC became the default desktop environment, I switched to Kubuntu (KDE Plasma) for my daily use because COSMIC was still in its early stages. Over the past year, though, I've been following its development, and I think it has improved tremendously. It's great to see how far the project has come.
There is still one thing I noticed is missing: connecting to a hidden Wi-Fi network through the GUI. As far as I know, it still requires using the CLI. Hopefully, that feature will be added to the graphical settings in the future.
For those of you who are currently using Pop!_OS with COSMIC, what do you think are its biggest strengths and weaknesses? I'd love to hear your experiences.
