2 Weeks Post Op- Pelvic Floor still not working…….?

Hi all, I had my 2nd endo surgery in less than a month about 2 weeks ago. First one was very minimal, second one was much more intensive performed by a specialist - took out my entire peritoneum, flushed my tubes, replaced my IUD, couple other minor things and found out I have stage 1 endo (hooray for diagnosis).

However, I am two weeks post op and my pelvic floor muscles still do not really have much “grab”. It’s such an odd feeling kind of hard to describe, but I am having to take stool softeners as I can’t “push” really any stool anywhere and I am NOT typically a constipated girl- I can’t really do kegels either but I also know I’m supposed to be in FULL pelvic rest until 4 weeks. Not picking anything up over 10lbs, no sex, no tampons etc.

Is this a new normal for me or is it just because I am not fully healed yet? Any advice/insight is kindly appreciated.

Bowel Prep- Help ?

Hi all. Having to do bowel prep for my surgery next Wednesday. We are traveling out of state for surgery to get to a specialist- anyone that’s gone through bowel prep- how bad is it? Will I be okay to drive 3hrs the following morning?

Schedule is as follows:
12:00pm day prior - stop all solid foods, switch to clear liquid diet
4:00pm - 2 dulcolax tablets
4:15pm- start drinking the miralax mixture and have to drink half of it (mixture is full bottle)
7:00pm drink the other half……

Will I be okay to drive 3 hours the following morning? Not typically a stomach problems girly so ANY advice is helpful. TYIA.

Note: as a chronically anxious person- this entire scenario is my literal living hell, I already take Xanax on the regular for panic attacks surrounding all GI issues- I would rather cancel the surgery than go through this. All advice is appreciated/is there anyway to avoid this prep. (If you’re not an anxiety person- I know this sounds insane :( )

How many laps did you have prior to diagnosis?

hi endo community <3 trying to make myself feel better….. and like I’m not crazy.

I had my first ever lap a week ago. Doc was a urogynocologist - did not take any pictures during the surgery, did not do an internal or external pelvic exam prior to surgery, and the only thing they found was a cyst that was *insert the doc at my follow up appointment holding up thumb and pointer finger to make the size of a half dollar and saying “it was about this big”*.

Doc is chalking it all up to musculoskeletal issues but I cannot help but feel like there is something else wrong. I have SEVERE bloating 24/7, crampy and terrible pain during ovulation and intercourse (I’m recently married so this sucks extra right now). This has been going on for about 2 years, can’t workout or lift anything super heavy without severe pain. I legit look 4 months pregnant even when I am hungry so I know it’s not allergy related.
I have done pelvic floor PT for 12 wks prior to seeing this doctor, did not help at all which is why my PT actually rec to see said doc! Doc wants to do Botox injections. (hello SO EXPENSIVE!)

Basically, I have an appointment out of state with an endo excision specialist and I’m nervous I’m making it all up in my head. Unfortunately- the years of being told I’m fine are getting to me. I think I am getting an MRI prior to seeing this new doc so hopefully will show something.

Any prior experiences/advice are welcomed greatly🩷TYIA

My worst fear came true :/

Hi all, I am 23- I had my first lap on Monday - surgery went well, the only pain I’ve had is from the gas pain in shoulders in diaphragm but subsided quickly with the help of gasx, peppermint tea & heating packs on my shoulders.

However, after 10yrs of reproductive issues and 2 1/2 years of specifically chronic cramping and looking 4 months pregnant everytime I turn around, AND 5 different gyno doctors…. We still have zero answers. They found nothing during surgery and I am emotionally crushed.

The only thing they did do was remove a cyst from my right ovary which may have been causing some neuropathy like symptoms down my right leg. These symptoms for me are quite “normal” - but typical cyst pain associated with, was not there this time. Never would have guessed, I’ve been suspected to have PCOS/PMOS prior. Did not get info how large the cyst was/if it was a chocolate cyst.

I have a follow up appointment next Tuesday to discuss next steps. I really have no idea what to do from here so I am seeking some advice from others who went through similar experience/how did you get to your diagnosis? What did it end up being if it wasn’t endo?

I am tired of putting band aids on whatever is going wrong. It’s been a struggle for almost half my life! Thank you in advance <3

Edit: Does anyone have experience with PCOS/PMOS & muscle guarding in your pelvic floor? I also did 12 weeks of pelvic floor physical therapy prior to surgery, did not help.

What to expect- exploratory surgery?

Hi there! I have been dealing with *what they are assuming is endometriosis* and it’s horrific symptoms for the last 2 1/2 years. I finally saw my 5th doctor who has agreed to do exploratory surgery - laparoscopic - and if they see anything in there they will scrape it out - in about 2 weeks.

I was wondering if y’all could share your experience/what to expect as far as the actual procedure & prep, and also length/limitations recovery wise? How long will current symptoms continue? How soon will they know if it’s actual endometriosis & if it is- what do you do to keep it at bay?

I just got married a month ago & are headed on our honeymoon next week. I would also be so thankful for any tips to help me not look 4 months pregnant - due to “endo” - while on the beach :(

Thank you for sharing in advance 🩷
