Sometimes you think the life of a comedian is all glitz and glamour, and then eps like this (and Ian Smith, Dan Tiernan and Christopher MacArthur-Boyd) remind you that it absolutely isn’t. Mites, shit sausage baps, buying plasters and another kebab to chase the one the night before. What a life! Enjoyed hearing a quiz where we immediately got all the answers… take note, Max.

David is in a veritable goldmine of potential WDWDY guests at Edinburgh, is there anyone you’d like David to tell Max to book? For me I’d love Adam Riches (would be good to hear another perspective on the vibrating Tortoise), Demi Adejuyigbe (v funny on spelling bee), and Olga Koch (would give the guys short shrift).

Another new name for me. Cannot believe the man went to the British Library to answer emails whilst having a shit without applying for some kind of arts council grant, a living art piece commenting on the colonialism of lifting all the books for us to gawp at.

A full on day from Bella, unbelievably controversial discussion about Humpty Dumpty and the continued conspiracy that he’s an egg. Can’t believe Max, David and Bella have been drawn in by Big Egg. They’ve got them like they’ve got Joanne McNally.

Interesting to hear Mars Bar wants guest diversification. I would like to hear from Steven Bartlett’s long suffering PA, Larry the Cat’s handler and someone who only drives in the middle lane of motorways. Any other ideas?

Got to be honest, thought they’d managed to nail down a big Max booking and got very confused when they didn’t mention snooker in the intro… not heard of Roger before, this was a v funny ep. I also listened to the ep, wrote this, found the photo and the image in my mind 100% does not match: definitely got a different idea with the Huel / running / ninja smokers chat.

Realising Max and DOD have a number of references that often make it into each guest’s yesterday questioning:
✅ Newbury reference
✅ Moomins (for obvious reasons)
✅ Vittorio bonking (seems to be an Irish guest requirement)
✅ Deborah Meaden or another dragon either needing to know more, or, for X reason, they’re out

This episode should have been called ‘The Full De-Kestrel’ - put in a bit of effort lads. Though that was me that said we as a listenership can’t be arsed with much and I fully respect that neither can Max and David, nor their producers, so fair play.

Looking forward to the hitman tier of the pod. I won’t be paying for it as a continued freeloader but if I did I would ask for Kristen Schaal (I assume previous guests will be selectable) to take some manosphere twunts out with a rusty speculum.

I’m guessing the TV show is either Taskmaster or Last One Laughing 3, though he said a few days so I assume the former. Not much ticked off on the DOD day bingo, being on the road and all. Interesting that David took off his trousers before his gig but didn’t then replace them, I assume he performed top on, bottom out, toddler style? Was anyone there?

For us freeloaders, what did Max do yesterday?

Another mammoth yesterday, Mike definitely got the brief but was actually quite vulnerable about his mental health and issues with insomnia.

Good to see the reemergence of the Joanne McNally eggstravaganza, can’t think of a better use for the greenhouse gasses coming out of her than as background for a slightly shit guided hypnosis session.

Such night and day between Max’s Melbourne and LA yesterdays, I would imagine that Jaime will be writing in to the podcast with a strongly worded complaint. I really hope that the neighbour who steals the bins can film the moment where Max’s taxi pulls up to the curb, the front door opens and Jaime runs out and just legs it down the road into the sunset with a suitcase and a large bar of worming chocolate.

Has anyone here bought an extra bottom? Do you need to floss it? There must also be a joke about an Englishman, an (honorary) Australian and an Irishman going into one of a pub, a celebrity cannabis bar or a strip club? Something something barry’s glasses and a vegetable that’s not being eaten by the Racing Post’s journo?

A David day, again ticking off all the DOD boxes:

✅ comedy (though writing rather than gig)

✅ proper cooking (albeit the Helencopter’s)

We can also confirm that David is not a never nude, but it sounds like Max might be one? What house do we think David has bought? My vote is this one, given how well the podcast is doing:
