I adore WDYDY and have done from the very get go. As the feedback on here, podcast platforms, and the pod itself regularly goes, listeners are there to escape, forget their own problems and the state of the world for a bit. It's a wholesome, silly, arguably entirely inane pleasure for an awful lot of people. A little oasis of profound silliness in a desert of festering shit.

And then unfortunately there's often a Reddit weirdo, desperate for attention presumably. From a glance at some recent episodes on here, you've got someone going out of their way to say how 'profoundly unfunny' Lara Ricote was, that they didn't laugh once at Paul Foot, and recommending that people swerve that entire episode entirely.

Apart from the absolute obviousness of taste in humour being entirely subjective, I can't get my head around what drives someone to essentially pop on here and essentially piss on someone's parade. Is it just that need for attention? Loneliness? Something else?

What makes someone take to Reddit when they're not a fan of a particular guest just to put the boot in? It's the absolute antithesis of what the pod is all about. Inevitably we all enjoy some guests more than others and there has been the odd one (although only one who may actually have deserved a bit of stick) that I haven't enjoyed too much. But, and I suspect i'm representative of the vast majority of listeners, i've never felt the urge to come on here and slag them off, let alone think that my taste in humour is the correct one or in some way superior...like an absolute fucking weirdo.

Hmm, glad I got that off my chest. Back on topic, I learned on the Ricote episode that I was living on the same Finsbury Park street as Max back in the early 2000s. Centre of the known universe etc...

Max's usual order is a strong three-quarter flat white. He sometimes orders a long black and on one occasion wanted a cortado. Using the resource of everythingishowbiz I've checked how often it's gone right or wrong.

In conclusion, Max orders 24 coffees, he gets what he wants 18 times and has issues 6 times. 1 in 4 times he's not getting what he wants. Or aptly for a guy who wants a three-quarter flat white, he's only getting it three-quarters of the time.

I was on a red eye flight with a small child so I might have missed it but I did listen to the end of the show again just to check and I think I’m right about this- they didn’t include What Did You Clue Yesterday in this week’s in it for life episode. Is it possible they had no new submissions?

I was able to get a submission in for this quiz in the past, as I had started a decent spreadsheet of rhymes to try and maximise the quality of my submission. I gave up though after I reached my goal of getting an email read out on the podcast 😇 I might have continued for the love of the quiz, but the problem is the location. By my count, there’s at most 16 guests that basically fit the rhyme parameters of Omid Djalili’s Poop Tea. But guests don’t usually want to dox themselves, so the locations that turn up in the podcast tend to be quite general and they don’t tend to end with the key “ee” sound that we need. Perhaps if we brainstorm it, we can crack this?!

PS Max if you do happen to read this, I did not realise this until I heard it read on the podcast, but my aforementioned email was quite a bit ruder than it sounded in my head and I’d like to apologise for any insinuations of stalking 👉👈 I was angling for persistence, and not a crime!
