This is when I wondered how many of a certain product do you need to buy to get a free one. I'm aware you can buy any products to get points, but I think this is a decent way of showing value.

Worst value items are Mayo Chicken and Cheeseburger. You need to buy 23 to get your 24th for free. The best value is a McCrispy, where you need to buy 11 to get your 12th for free.

Based on the lads chatting about could Max be replaced by AI, I asked ChatGPT to create a transcript of the show. Remarkably it got a lot of in-jokes and then made several large mistakes.

I was browsing jobs near me and I saw a job to be a cleaner at David Lloyd (only 10 hours per week) and it included a full membership (must be about £100 per month?).

I therefore wonder what other minimum wage jobs had big financial perks? People who work in hotels maybe?

Placed an order just before 7pm. Arrival time was supposed to be 7:25pm. The time just kept creeping up and up and up. We get to 7:30pm (actual time) and on the app the arrival time is now suggested to be 8:45 to 9:15pm. Right, I now don’t want this. Fine, this happens and has happened before.

This time though, the cancel option isn’t there. It only gives me an option to read a load of FAQs which offer no contact information or ring the restaurant. Doing the latter just had them tell me they couldn’t do anything and I had to contact Just Eat.

I phone a number I find and it’s an AI thing. I say I want to speak to human and I explain my actual situation and the robot tells me I need to go online and use the help there (there’s nothing), and the phone hangs up. So I phone again and this time I say I want to speak to human and say I’m a restaurant and would you believe it - you get put through to a human (decent tip: at this point I was prepared to pretend to be the restaurant to cancel the order).

The person on customer services seemed a bit suprised a customer had got through but after a few minutes she processed my refund and instantly came through to my bank.

Then in a weird twist. The food showed up at 9:45pm, over two hours after the order was cancelled. Is that normal?

Everyday he seems to have this for breakfast on toast, I can't recall if he's ever mentioned his brand? I vaguely recall him mentioning one that was 100% peanuts but not a brand...

So I just went through the drive thru collected their happy meals, pulled up in a click and serve bay and ordered my wrap which turned up moments later 🤷‍♂️.

I get that Max has a decent income (remember anyone who’s ever been on TV is a multi multi millionaire). This guy is packing De Longhi and Dualit toaster money for gods sake. But in the last episode he spent at least £20 just on takeaway coffees in one day. I get it when you’re out and about but two of them he literally took home.

As a man who’s quite… fussy particular about his coffee surely he’d get more enjoyment from buying the beans he wants and pouring the exact ratios he wants rather than seething at baristas?

Or it all a ruse just to get away from his house and wife for a bit?

We had an offer accepted on a property under the asking price - about 6.5% under. The property had been on the market for 18 months and the couple had split up, was the reason for sale. One caveat of accepting this lower off was that we could not renegotiate costs after having a survey done etc. fine, to some extent I agreed. However obviously if something astronomical comes up that’s different.

We had a survey done, it raised some things but nothing that caused too much concern. Happy to swallow them in the cost.

They did not have an electrical safety certificate and hadn’t serviced their boiler since 2024, so we’ve paid for an electrician and gas person to go round and inspect things.

Meanwhile this house has a septic tank. We’ve been told by our solicitors that the owners paperwork is not satisfactory and they will not sign off the sale without a further, fuller inspection. Approximate fee £1,000.

Today the electrician has come back with a report which has lots of faults. I asked for a basic set of costs for work that he thinks needs doing ASAP. Approximately £3k.

Is it reasonable to suggest the seller pays for these things and what do we do if they just say no? As obviously they couldn’t sell the house without having them done.

IMDB reveals it to be bloody Darren Anderton. Harsh on "sick note" I think, but I suppose he had just retired the year before with Bournemouth in League Two.
