Has anyone actually found a good mental rhythm of life that makes life feel easier/lighter?

Like changing your perspective or the way you think about things or even the things you do to be able to tolerate the world today.

Something like, every Monday I go on a bike ride to reset. Tuesday-Wednesday I expect misery because I go to work so if the day is average it already exceeded my expectations. Etc. but looking for deeper more insightful life rhythms.

Why would someone modify a room this way?

We recently bought a house and found a setup in one of the children’s bedrooms that has me scratching my head.
The bedroom has a small attached closet/playroom area. The previous owners clearly used it as a play space because there were toys inside, a child sized mirror, and other play items left behind.
Here are the details that seem unusual:
The playroom/closet has its own HVAC vent.
It also has a window.
The door to the playroom was intentionally cut and has about a 3 inch gap at the bottom.
There is a childproof doorknob cover installed on the inside of the playroom door.
There is also a child safety device installed on the outside of the bedroom door.
A handyman who looked at it suggested that the door might have been cut so food or other items could be slid underneath while a child was inside, which honestly caught me off guard and sent my imagination into overdrive.
I’m trying to stay objective and not jump to conclusions.
Has anyone seen a setup like this before?
Is there a common reason for cutting a door this short or installing childproofing devices in these locations? Does this seem like typical childproofing for a child who wandered, climbed, or had sensory needs, or does it strike you as unusual?
