I'm looking for a movie, preferably horror of any kind, where the main antagonist or a result of an antagonistic force is an ever growing, absorbing "mass" that our heroes need to kill or end it's growth to end the threat.
It doesn't have to be the main plot.
It can be a side hustle.
It doesnt have to be a movie. It can be an episode of any series, live action or otherwise, or even a video game.

I recently watched the newest minions and I remembered that this kind of "force" is not abundant in Hollywood anymore and I haven't seen that for a long time.
What I did see (and remember at least) up untill now is:
The Blob (1958 one and the one from 1988)
Akira
One episode of Swat Kats animated show back in the day
I think that Rick and Morty had an episode like this too, so I've seen it.
I heard that goosebumps had an episode of something similar?

Need more.

EDIT:
I'm looking for examples where the blob reaches it's "adulthood", as in big, gynormous, preferably town threatening entity.
"Life" is not good because the alien is in its infancy through the whole movie.
"Fifth element" is not good, because the threat is entirely other planet.
