Real Power in the Tower Planner + New "My Roster" Page — Connect Your Account on MSF Base

Hey all, another update to MSF Base (msfbase.com).

Connect your MSF account

You can now link your Marvel Strike Force account (msfbase.com/auth/) through MSF's own official account connection — no passwords shared with me, just a normal MSF login. This pulls in your real roster (power, level, gear, stats) so a couple of features below can use your actual account's info. Your roster syncs automatically once a day, or you can hit "Sync Roster Now" any time from the connect page.

Your Power in the Tower Planner

The biggest update was to the Tower Planner floor picker. Once connected, your actual power shows for each character in the picker, plus there's a new 'Your Power' sort option. Your power carries over into the picked slots as well as the generated share images and shareable links — so a plan you share shows the exact power you had when you cleared it.

My Roster

Added My Roster — a personalized version of the stats table showing your own characters' level, gear, power, and combat stats, pulled straight from your connected account instead of the usual max-level benchmark.

Also, if you want to see a character's max possible power at max investment (without ISO-8) — that's what the Stats Table is for, sortable by Power or any other stat. This can be helpful since they seemingly removed the link to the stats page from the official website.

Potentially easier way to share tower solutions

Hey all, another update to MSF Base (msfbase.com).

Shareable tower plans

I've seen a lot of posts recently for tower solutions that are just giant walls of text, so I figured I'd build something to make it a bit easier to view.

The main addition: you can now share a tower plan as a link. Open the Tower Planner, set up your floors, and hit Share → Create shareable link. You pick whether to share a single week or the full tower, and it generates a short URL that opens a read-only view of the plan — showing all the teams, floor restrictions, mode badges, and any notes you added.

Anyone with the link can also click "Load into my planner" to copy the full plan directly into their own planner. The idea is to make it easier to share a full week's worth of solutions without screenshotting every floor or typing out a list of teams.

If you don't want to do the link you can instead choose to generate an image and share that as you wish — that option is there too under the same Share button.

Notes panel

There's a new Notes button in the tower header that shows a Team Power field and a notes box under each floor. Values save automatically in your browser and carry through to both shared links and exported images — useful if you want to flag a specific counter or note the TCP requirement for a floor.

Turn Order Simulator

Also, for those of you that haven't checked it out recently, the Turn Order Simulator has received a few updates, and I am continuously working on improving it.

Danger Room Cards, Turn Order Simulator improvements & more MSF Base updates

Hey everyone! With Danger Room starting later today (if scopely doesn't mess up), I figured I'd share some updates made to the site.

Danger Room Cards

Browse all the buff/mod cards available in the Danger Room mode. You can filter by rarity (common/uncommon/rare), category, and character. Cards that are gated behind a character dependency (i.e. they won't show up unless the condition is met) are flagged separately so you can distinguish between always-available cards and conditional ones. Grid and list view, same as the news page. (This is my first time pulling this data, so I will do my best to verify them once the game mode goes live, but if you have any notes, please reach out)

Turn Order Simulator improvements

Last time I called it a "very early beta" — it's still not perfect, but a lot of accuracy issues got fixed. Some on-spawn chain reactions now resolve correctly (e.g. Invisible Woman gaining Stealth triggering Wolfsbane's Speed Up for New Mutant allies). Spawn fill amounts that scale with ally counts now count more accurately. Speed stat changes tied to conditions activate at the right point. If you tested it before and ran into weirdness, worth trying again. Big thanks to everyone that has helped test and improve this!

Release dates now filled in for every character

Last post I mentioned I only had ~80 characters with release dates and asked if anyone had the rest. Someone shared a community spreadsheet that had them all — those are now in.

Discord server

Spun up a Discord for the site — even tho I'm not the biggest fan, a lot of people had reached out, so I figured it's worth having it as an easier way to get feedback. Link is on the homepage, or: discord.gg/vpfScjtWjy

Other stuff: ISO-8/Counter/Assist breakdowns got a pass for accuracy and readability, and Date Added sorting was added to the character grid, ability search, tower planner, and turn order simulator.

Galactic Council Awakened Abilites

Has there been any information about how we'll be able to unlock the awakened abilities for this team, specifically Blastaar, Quasar, and Thunderstrike?

MSF Base update - Turn Order Simulator + other additions

A few days ago I posted about MSF Base and a lot of people seemed to like it which I appreciated! Since then I've shipped a handful of updates — the biggest one being a Turn Order Simulator.

Turn Order Simulator (msfbase.com/theorycrafting/turn-order/)
Pick an offense and defense team, select your game mode (Arena, Crucible, War, or none), and it predicts the spawn-phase turn order — accounting for base speeds, passive stat bonuses, and on-spawn speed bar fills/drains. It's a very early beta and spawn-phase only for now (doesn't model mid-battle bar changes), but should be useful for planning matchups. Each character also shows a breakdown of their speed kit, with mode-gated or team-comp-gated abilities automatically greyed out when they don't apply. I'm not gonna lie, testing and verifying it is time consuming, so as you test it, if you notice any issues, either post them here or use the feedback form, and I'll happily look into them.

Other things added since launch:

  • Stats table — sort/filter every character by any stat, with passive bonuses shown separately
  • News page — browse all official MSF articles, filterable by character, tag, and keyword
  • Character release dates — I tried to extract some data from the articles and got about 80ish characters' info. If someone has tracked these dates, including the farmability ones, please send them over and I'll add them in
  • Theorycrafting view modes — Cards & Split as alternatives to the plain text box
  • Full changelog at msfbase.com/changelog/ if you want to see everything

I built a site for MSF data the game should show you but doesn't

Been playing for almost 2 years and got tired of not having a good place to look things up, so I built one: msfbase.com

What it does:

  • Ability search — search every character's full ability text, filter by trait, and filter by passive speed mechanics (fills speed bar, blocks speed bar, drains enemies, etc. - this is a combination of ability texts and game files)
  • Extra character info - ISO-8 Attack/Counter/Assist information parsed from the game files, plus tracking when characters got added to the game and when they became farmable
  • Theorycrafting — pick a team and see everyone's speeds and passives in one place. I don't love using premade counters because it takes a bit of the fun away for me. I am planning on something like an attack planner for crucible somewhere down the line.
  • Tower planner — plan Storm's Mighty and Fear Tower floors by week and difficulty, with trait-based character filtering. As completely F2P I don't have every team built so being able to plan out things ahead has been really useful - It's how I was able to come up with the floor 5 counter for storm tower and made sure I wasn't using anyone I needed for later removing the need for resets

The site is still a work in progress and I haven't verified every character — mostly been spot checking the ones I've needed or used. That said, I know the sentiment around the game is mixed right now, but for those still playing I hope it's useful. My plan is to keep adding things I personally want, but there's a feedback form on the site and I'm open to suggestions.

UPDATES since launch:

  • Added a full stats table (/characters/stats/) — sortable by any stat, filterable by trait
  • Updated the character grid view to show the speed and allow sorting by it
  • Added links to the main MSF website for the full stats table and character pages
  • Stats now show base values separately from passive bonuses — e.g. Black Widow shows 135 base speed with (+20) from her passive. Useful when facing a passive-blocker and need to know true base speed. Wild to me that there's no way to see her base speed in-game once the passive is leveled — the game just shows the inflated number with no indication
  • Added a news page — all MSF articles in one place, searchable by title, description, character mentions, and keywords I thought most relevant (raid, event, patch, war, etc.)
  • While pulling the news I was able to pull release dates for 88 characters (that I believe is correct, but I had a script parsing text doing it, so it might not be 100% accurate) — still missing a lot. If anyone has release dates or farmability dates (when a character first became farmable in stores/raids) for any characters, drop them below or DM me, I'd love to fill those in

The positive reception on this post has been appreciated — thanks for the feedback!
