What does supporting SW mean?
A baby bat here! I wanted to ask about the supporting S€x work but being a feminist... I know that alot of goth clothes (fishnets, chokers, harnesses etc.) are taken from the SW industry. I also know that goths are feminists.
Here is the thing... I have seen alot discussions on the internet talking about "real feminism" is being against SW because it's making women look like objects or consent seem like something that can be just bought easily.
But if goth claims to be feminist but supports SW how does that work? (yes i know the clothes and some music is based on sw). Sometimes i see people saying stuff like "support the worker but hate the industry." But then also some people say that you "cant support the worker without supporting the industry because its the workers that form the industry." This stuff is really messing with my head and i dont know what my opinion is..
If women are seen as objects it doesnt fix the patriarchy and misogyny feminism is fighting against. But also feminism is about women being able to choose what they want to do.
Can i call myself goth if i "accept" SW. Not being against it but not exactly "supporting" it. I care for the safety in the industry but hate the picture it gibes of women?
