Soskill Snow Miku Build/Review

This one took longer than it should. I got this for me on Christmas. But lots of stuff happened and I was pretty much busy and barely has enough time. Plus working with my brother on the MG infinite justice. Now that the gundam is done, I finally got back to finishing this one. And in case you're wondering "why haven't you used the snow mask?" That's because my to assistants 🐈‍⬛️🐈‍⬛️decided that I didn't need it. So it's gone 🤣

Without delay, here's my review of the Soskill Snow Miku!

Build:

Miku:

Miku's build is as standard as girlpla can get. Simply do the usual fit test on the joints, sand them a bit so they're not too tight and you're pretty much golden! There's some tiny bits and details, that can be highlighted and given color separation. By a tiny bit of marker paint. There's some paneling, but not really much.

Tho adding the skirt parts is a bit easier, since they made the tabs a tiny longer. They're still a bit tricky to put on. But it's not as annoying as the previous 2 miku kits, by soskill. Overall the build is pretty average as far as girlpla goes.

You do get 1 set of spare arm and hip joints. And TONS of spare wrist and ankle joints. Which is a plus, in case you loose or break something on miku. As for the faces, I did make 2 custom faces. And I'm pretty happy how they turned out. Because I usually suck with girpla eye decals (The faces I made are the winking face and the angry o face).

Snow Reindeer:

This is where the majority of your work is gonna go. Pretty much 60% of the parts in the box is for the Reindeer. It's pretty much parts layering, after parts layering. The end result, is this beautifully parts separated Reindeer. Tho keep in mind, this thing has TONS of panelines and details, that DEMAND be highlighted. So get your paint and markers ready. It'll take some work. But the end result is definitely worth it!

The Reindeer is a very solid build, yet a bit heavy. Tho it's basically a brick, when you transform it. Tho there's some parts, who do want to paint up and give them a bit of color separation. Like the pipes behind the seat. As for the waterslide decals included. They are pretty good in quality and incredibly easy to work with. 8 seconds dipped in the water and they're good to be applied.

Like the pipes behind the seat. As for the waterslide decals included. They are pretty good in quality and incredibly easy to work with. 8 seconds dipped in the water and they're good to be applied.

Aesthetics:

After I finished the sakura miku, last year. I was really looking forward to the snow version. As snow miku and sakura miku, are my all time favorite miku themes. Snow miku did not disappoint. The matte finish on both her and the Reindeer are very beautiful. The attention to detail on her clothes, hair and accesories are very pretty.

Tho painting the buttons on her digital keyboard wasn't easy. Mostly because they be micro small buttons 😅. Tho I do have to admit the change between her singing outfit and rescue outfit isn't really much. As you just swap out the accessories around her skirt and take off the goggles.

The Reindeer has a very nice robust design and compliments snow miku very well. The snow bunny is cute too! Overall the entire kit looks incredibly gorgeous and definitely has quite the shelf presence.

Articulation:

The Articulation on Miku is pretty standard, as far as girlpla goes. Her hair and skirt parts are adjustable, same goes with the backpack. So she can do any pose you throw at her. The Reindeer has basic Articulation movement. But many parts of the legs can go out 90 degrees and can be turned around at 360. Most of it is for the transformation. Tho it does have some very nice head and neck movement.

But you can do some pretty basic poses, when it's in Reindeer form. Tho you might wanna use the display base, for some of the running poses. The head of the snow bunny can turn at 360 degrees. Which is surprising, considering that it's a small companion figure. Usually you expect them to be static figures.

Just remember to use a parts separator, for mikus face plate in case you wanna swap them out. Because the face plates fit to the head socket pretty tight and you can't pull it out with your fingers.

Gimmicks:

Startinf off with the gimmicks! Mikus singing hat attaches to her head, via magnets. You can change mikus outfit, to her singing outfit or rescue outfit. It's simply a matter of swapping out accessories and skirt accessories, adding new ones and finally swapping a hair piece for another hair piece that has the goggles on.

Which is a more simpler and quicker process, compared to the sakura miku and her courier outfit. In which you basically dissamble almost the whole body, while adding new parts and accesories. While you ditch the regular legs for newly built clear mecha legs.

The booster backpack has multiple gimmick uses. Both miku and the Reindeer can use it as backpack boosters. Miku can use the backpack as a portable stand, for the digital keyboard. So miku can set up a jam session anytime on the go! You can detach the side parts of the boosters, thus turning them into Snowboards. So that miku can go skiing!

But there's a bit of an issue with that gimmick. And that's because you need to remove the mini speakers completely from her heels. Not just the wheels. And those locked onto the heels extremely tight. They are pretty much impossible to remove, once their own. (Which sucks, because I really REALLY wanted to display miku doing air tricks with the boards on!😭)

So yeah, don't add them if you're planning on doing the skii gimmick. The digital keyboard is portable! It can be folded into a carry-on case and miku can hold it on her shoulder very neatly without any problems. Now for the main event, the Reindeer! Miku can ride on the deer, wether it's in Reindeer form or snowmobile form.

The Reindeers main gimmick is that it can transform into a badass snowmobile! The transformation steps are a bit confusing at first. But once you learn it, it becomes easy to do. There's also a couple of peg holes on the top side of the Reindeers back legs. You can actually attach mikus gun and store it there.

Nitpicks:

The small display base that this kit brings, is pretty bad. It can't hold miku without tipping forward or sideways. It's simply not built for her. It could've been used for the rabit. But the rabbit has no peg holes, so that you can put it on the stand. So use the bigger stand instead.

Tho I did see some promo pics showing the rabbit using the tiny stand. I guess they scrapped that idea on the final release.

Pros and cons:

Pros:

+the entire kit has a nice matte finish and it looks very beautiful out of the box.

+plenty of details and panelines for you to highlight.

+Good articulation on miku and the Reindeer.

+Good ammount of Playability.

+nice set of accessories.

+nice set of gimmicks.

+the price is very competitive (usually from $50-$80 usd, depending on where you get it)

+brings a set of spare main joints, plus many spare wrist and ankle joints.

+Build is pretty fun all around.

Cons:

-Arm and leg joints are a bit tight.

-mini speakers on the ankles are very hard to remove for the skii gimmick.

-the tiny display base can't hold miku, without tipping forward.

-parts separator is needed to swap out the faceplates.

Verdict:

Despite some hiccups, the kit is still very much worth getting. Especially if you're a miku fan. You get a very nice bang for your buck, with the ammount of stuff you get and you get a very nice display piece with tons of playability. Definitely a kit worth considering picking up.

MG Infinite Justice Gundam Build/Review (A chaotic build between brothers)

For those that don't know. I found this kit last year, at amazon haul for 20 usd. My initial thoughts were "this is either a Bootleg, someone who returned this fully built or it's gonna be missing a lot of parts" So I said "fk it" and ordered it. 2 weeks pass by and it arrives. Fully sealed, sure the box was banged up. But all the parts were completely fine. So I basically scored.

My eldest brother saw this kit and wanted to airbrush it for me. We both were very busy with our own builds. But we finally got around to this boy. He did all the airbrush work, I just did the building, afterwork touch ups, details (patching up stuff were we both messed up) and keeping his 3 😺s entertained while he worked. And also removing wandering cat hair that some how got trapped under the paint 🤣

Keep in mind, this review mostly for the out of the box build. As for what paints that were used, I was suppose to keep a list. But the furry ones kept me really busy (I forgot lol). But we mostly used dspiaes pre-mixed acrylic paints, with the dspiae wash free airbrush and my brothers regular airbrush. I used my usual dspiae metallic markers for the details and patch ups.

(Originally he wanted me to try out the dspiae airbrush, but with the ammount of work needed to be done. We decided to put that aside for another time. I did paint some parts to try it out. The airbrush is very good, for basic paintjobs. But it lacks the controled spray features. That you see on normal airbrushes. I still highly recommend it, especially for beginners who want to start airbrushing)

Ok, now we start the review!

Box Contents:

-Infinite justice Gundam

-Backpack

-Rifle

-2 beam sabers

-Grappling Shield

-Shield effect part

-Wire for the grappling claw

-Beam boomerang

-Beam boomerang effect part

-Accessory to make the dual beam saber

4 "Griffon" effect parts (2 for the backpack wings and 2 for the legs)

-Action Base attachment accessory for the backpack. To display it alone on the action base or with the gundam in all burst mode.

-4 stickers (for the eyes and forehead)

-Sticker decals

-Dry transfer decals.

-2 pilot figures ( 1 sitting and 1 standing)

Build:

The build was honestly very enjoyable, yet prety simple. As everything pretty much went together smoothly. Although since everything down to the innerframe was painted, I did have to do a bit of sanding. As some parts felt too tight. Especially for the leg joints. Tho some nub marks needed some extra care, as they will definitely be visible.

Since this is an old MG, you'll be spending a lot of time building. As many parts layer and come together to form a section of the main part. Tho the backpack is definitely the best part of the build and where most of your detailing work will go. While the kit is very well parts separated. There's still plenty of room for detailing and make everything pop out.

Overall the build is very simple and nothing complicated. Just that it uses a lot of parts. We lost 2 parts, due to his 3 little helpers taking the parts and hiding them (we still haven't found them, we searchedthe whole house). We lost the cover for the crotch and the black triangle piece for the shield. So we decided to improvise.

We basically painted the area, to give the illusion that there's part separation there. We could've glued the original vent piece there, but it would stick out too much without the original cover. Outside all of the cat chaos, this build is very smooth and solid!

I decided to not add decals this time. I originally wanted to use delpi holographic decals. But I couldn't find a set for the infinite justice.

Aesthetics:

In terms of Aesthetics, you are getting a very tv/anime accurate infinite justice out of the box. It's as anime accurate as you're gonna get, down to the minute details. As everything is pretty much parts separated. The kit has plenty of panelines and details that need to be highlighted. But once you do. You get quite the badass looking gundam.

Articulation:

This is where the kit truly shines. Despite it being an old MG, It's quite the poser! The head has movement, but the sharp pointy design restrains it a bit. The arms have a nice range of motion and a very good bicep bend. The hands have very nice articulation on the fingers. The chest piece Unfortunately has no ab crunch or side movement.

Technically it can, because the innerframe allows it. But the pointy armor restrains and prevents any type of movement. Plus the heavyness of the backpack. Will make it useless anyway. Now the legs have absolute freedom. As the legs can be adjusted, to make any kicking pose you desire.

The side skirt parts have a 360 degree movement and can be elevated, or lowerd. The backskirt can be elevated up or down. Or pushed all the way down to lock it in place. The leg armor parts move and adjust as you bend the legs. The ankles have nice ample free movement.

Unfortunately though, this kit uses polycaps in the very weird places. There's polycaps on the shoulders, bicep connectors, the waist and ankle sockets. It's fine at first, but these can get loose overtime. Especially on the arms.

Gimmicks:

The kit brings an assortment of gimmicks. We have the standard cockpit gimmick, revealing the pilot inside. The beam sabers can be stored on the side skirts and the rifle can be stored on the back skirt. The griffon effects can be attached to the legs and backpack. Though the leg effects are kinda flexible, the tend to pop out if you bend the leg too much.

The beam boomerang can be detached from the shield and used as a secondary weapon. It can also be used as another saber. The beam sabers can be combined, to make the signature double sided saber (straight from darth maul lol). The grappling claw can be deployed from the shield, via wire cable.

It's the same wire from the MG Gouf Custom (8th MS team). It's a really REALLY good wire! Whatever shape you put it in, it will stay in place and not droop down. No matter how much you shake and wobble it. It will maintain its possition for many years.

Now for the backpack, you can display it alone on an action base using the special attachment included. The armor of the backpack boosters can be adjusted, revealing the inner booster engines. The guns can be extended or retractated. The backpack can be titled over the shoulders. Putting the infinite justice in full assault mode.

You can also display it on the action base in full assault mode, via the special attachments. But the attachments aren't exactly stable or reliable. And finally the backpack wings can retract or expand, by gently pulling the sides of the backpack.

Pros and cons

Pros:

+very Anime accurate

+very good shelf presence

+good poseability and articulation

+good assortment of weapons, accessories, effects and gimmicks

+lots of parts separation and details

Cons:

-Polycaps can get loose overtime

-very visible nub marks

-no action base included (seriously y tho?)

-no ab crunch articulation

-backpack is very heavy. Which makes it difficult for the kit to stand on its on.

-base attachment accessory for the backpack is unstable and unreliable.

Verdict:

Despite some flaws and the base not included being quite questionable. This kit still holds up and will make quite an addition to your display. Despite it being decades old. Though it can benefit greatly if it got a 2.0 treatment.

The articulation and gimmicks are very impressive, despite it's age. If you're a big fan of the cosmic era. Definitely pick this one up, if you get the chance. As it's one of the best MG'S of its time, right next to the freedom 2.0.

Final score:

8/10

A very big thank you to my eldest brother, for airbrushing this for me. Seriously this turned out very amazing! It was a lot of fun doing a build together. The last time we built something together, was the NG 1/144 Gundam Virsago chest break. And I was 8 when we did that. So yeah, this felt very nostalgic for me.

Tho I will admit. His 3 furry assistants made this harder than it should 🤣

Slowly getting back into girlpla

Went to the local shop, to find something for my dad for fathers day. I got him the new b duck soda plus edition, plus the victory gundam ver ka.

Picked up the fenrir for me. I'm currently working on the soskill snow miku.

I think my dad will like this (the fenrir is for me)

So my mom asked me to find something a little different for my dad, this fathers day. So I went to my local hobby shop and got him the big duck with a victory ver ka. I honestly want the duck for me. But I'll get one for myself later on. I got the fenrir girl for me tho.

He's probably gonna kill me, once he sees how big the box is. But I'm sure he'll love it. 🤣

Toadstool Cafe's Mt. Beanpole Cake and the DK Crush Float.

So during my last day in my Orlando vacation. I decided to visit toad cafe, because it was the place that I haven't visited. Luckily it was a slow day there. So I could just walk in and look around.

I did a small walkthrough here:

https://youtu.be/qgLtJwGlQWI?si=aFDMHfdKPKzUwxA5

I was very impressed with the cafe interior, that I decided to sit down and order something. Cause I was hungry after riding mine cart madness. I ordered the Mt. Bean Pole Cale. A Neapolitan layered cake. Composed of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Topped with a matcha green mouse and a gold star made of white chocolate.

I usually don't eat chocolate, because I usually get a headache after eating it. But this one was actually fine, I didn't get a single headache throughout the whole day. As for the cake itself, it was very delicious. Although I do admit, that once you start eating more of the cake. The chocolate flavor tends to overtake the other flavors of the cake.

It tastes like ice cream cake, which I honestly don't mind. Overall my stomach was happy that I introduced it to this cake. 10/10 would eat this cake again.

Now for the Dk Crush Float. Funny enough I actually just wanted the mug only. I asked the clerk if I could just pay and get the mug only, they said it was ok. So I went ahead and payed. But the moment I blinked, there was my mug in front of me. Only full instead of empty🤣

But it was ok, It's not every day you get to try theme park food. Plus the guy was super busy and there was a huge line, before I got there. So I perfectly understand. Without delay, I decided to sit down and chow down.

The ice-cream was a soft serve mix of banana and pineapple. With bits of mini chocolate sprinkles, toffee bits and caramel popcorn. All served in a waffle cup. It tasted very tarty, but the caramel popcorn sweetness helped balanced the flavors out. Overall it was pretty good.

As for the pineapple soda, it was simple pineapple soda. Nothing special there. But I still got my barrel mug. Which I am currently using for everyday water drinking use. It was quite the pallette adventure for a last day. I had a lot fun doing this 🤣

Final scores:

Mt. Beanpole Cake 10/10

DK Crush Float 8/10

Donkey Kong Meet and Greet Intro

I was lucky enough to catch the meet and greet, on my 4th day. During my stay for a whole week.

I know it's not the best angle, But I had to camp the next show line, to finally meet the kong himself. Cause the first meet and greet, filled up instantly.

So long Epic Universe Orlando, you truly lived up to your name!

These last 5 days, were some of funnest 5 days I've ever had. When I first arrived at the parks, I didn't know what awaited me. But the views, were incredibly stunning. They trully wanted this place, to be true to it's name. I've had tons of fun, exploring each world, do as much of everything as possible.

By the 4th day, I pretty much got on all the rides. Including mine cart madness and battle of the ministry. When I first got to nintendo world, I couldn't help but smile and laugh, they trully nailed it in the aesthetics. I got a power up band, before going in and started enjoying the place.

From the mini games, playing mario kart, chilling on yoshis adventure, meet and greet, with mario and luigi. I wasn't able to get on minecart madness, till my 4th day. It took a while to get on the ride, 1hr 30mins. But it was worth it. The ride was quite fun. I was finally able to catch the donkey kong meet and greet.

The costume looked quite amazing! I greeted mr. kong and got my pics with him! Dark Universe was actually quite cool. They really nailed it with the theme. The Igor actor was quite the cool dude. Tho I couldn't help but laugh, as the invisible man was roasting anyone within roasting range 🤣

Monsters Unchained was a really fun ride. Probably the only one I've gone on more than 8 times. The queue rooms were quite awesome, as a fan of the original monster movies. This was quite the treat. Tho I feel like they could've added more monsters to roam around the village of darkmor.

Curse of the werewolf, I felt like the ride needed more time in the oven. I expected a scene in the passing cabing, during the ride, but nothing happened and the ride was way too short. Isle of Berk was quite the amazing place! from the sights, the food, the character actors, hiccups wing gliders. It was quite a fun place to hang out. And it's also where I got spike, my own little storm cutter dragon.

Finally there's the ministry of magic. I was finally able to get on the ride, right before closing time. The queue was quite pleasing to the eye. I see why folks loved hanging out at the main queue room. It's incredibly massive and impressive!

While there's plenty of room for improvement. I overall had tons of fun at epic universe orlando. I hope I get the chance, to come back someday. This was a very awesome vacation trip!

Finding this guy was as hard as finding a rare spawn in an rpg

So I heard that meeting the kong himself. Is like finding a rare spawn in an rpg. After about 3 days of missing his time, I finally got to see the guy (yes I took a pic with him as well 🤣). I also got on mine cart madness. While it took about 1hr 30 mins. I finally got it checked off my list.

And with that, I pretty much got on every ride in the park. I had a really good time and I hope to come back next year. It's my last day in orlando. So I'm gonna enjoy everything to the fullest.

Cheers!

I decided to visit berk today. Since it's day 3 on my universal trip. Berk may have become one of my favorite places. Everything is perfect , down to the detail. The aesthetic of the place is amazing! I adopted this little dude at the hatchery.

The clerk lady performed a birthday ritual for me and the little dude. I then rode hiccups wing gliders. I'm not to keen on coasters. But this was really fun! I can't wait to return tomorrow!
