My interview experience
Hello! Today I wanted to give my interview experience for the “Stocker” position. I came around 10 minutes early and when I walked in I told the Loss Prevention worker “Hello I have an interview with the Manager” he then proceeded to say “interview….? the manager isnt here” in a very soft voice (it was hard to hear him) he stared me down for a few awkward seconds but after realizing I wasn’t leaving, he called up the supervisor.
The supervisor came around, and she lured me to the back into an office room. Along the way to the office room she knocked a pack of socks over on accident but I picked it up for her and we laughed it off. Anyways, in the office she was very welcoming and had a charming attitude, she asked for my name, contact info, experience (I had none, first potential job) but she asked me for customer service experience which I told her I have 2 years of CSR experience while I was in High School. She lastly asked for my availability and hours.
After asking those questions, she explained how the “Stocker” role isn’t really just stocking and more of an open associate ready to assist with anything on the salesfloor and backroom. I told her I was fine with that (I’m desperate for a job). After explaining the job, she asked if I had any questions which I asked 3 in which she answered thoroughly and clearly. She had a joking personality too, we had quite a few laughs, and she also didn’t sugarcoat the job and said “weekends are packed and can be stressful” and “employees wont piss you off, customers will but you have to keep the smile”.
After taking my information, explaining the job, and answering my questions, she said she will forward everything to the manager and if the manager likes what she sees, I should get a call/message by the end of the week, she said realistically, if I get no call by the end of the week, I should start looking for another job just so I don’t stand there sitting like a duck for a response that will never arrive.
Overall though, the beginning interaction with the Loss Prevention Officer was awkward, but supervisor was extremely charming and useful! I hope the manager has a similar attitude.
