Sandman Plugin - Manage your screensaver, auto-lock and sleep timeouts

I wanted a way to quickly change my screensaver/sleep/auto-lock timeouts without always having to go edit this stuff in my dotfiles.

I created a small plugin for Omarchy Quattro to manage those on the fly.

Backdrop - Plugin for managing multi monitor background images

What’s up y’all. Upgraded from Omarchy 3 to Quattro today and thought it would be cool to make a plugin for people like me who use multiple monitors and get stuck with a single background across all monitors.

It also works for single monitors!

You can choose a theme background, a file on your system, a solid color or one of the 382 gradients included which you can angle the way you like.

I built a customizable stock market dashboard. Check it out!

I’ve been working on this customizable financial-market dashboard for the past few weeks and would love some feedback specifically from a data visualization perspective.

The idea is that there isn’t really a single “correct” market dashboard. Someone following a handful of tech stocks may want a completely different information hierarchy than someone watching indices, FX, commodities, or their own portfolio.

So I built the interface around a resizable grid where users can decide what gets visual priority and create their own layouts.

The screenshot here is my personal setup. I want it to feel closer to a market command center than a traditional consumer finance app, but without crossing the line into visual noise.

A few things I’m especially curious about:
1. Does your eye naturally find the important information?
2. Are the red/green sparklines doing enough work visually, or is the screen relying too heavily on color?
3. Does the hierarchy between the larger asset cards, individual stock charts, news, watchlist, and positions make sense?
4. At what point does this become too information-dense?

I’m the developer/designer of it, so feel free to tear the UI apart. That’s genuinely useful to me.

It’s called EQDash. I just launched it, but I’m mainly posting here because I’d like feedback on the visualization and dashboard design rather than the finance side of it.

Here’s also a video of me using it and showcasing how to build a dashboard.

6 Week Lawn Renovation

Every year, without fail my lawn dies. It doesn't matter if I fertilize/over-seed in the fall. I have to renovate it.

The winters here in Northern AB are long and cold.

We had a ton of snow this winter as well, and unfortunately when shovelling the driveway I have to pile the snow onto the lawn and come spring time it's full of debris, salt and snow mould.

This is my process for resuscitating my dead lawn, at the beginning of May every year:

  1. Mow as low as possible with my run of the mill Honda mower
  2. Hand rake the entire area to try and loosen things up
  3. Lay down some seed, this year I went with Scott's Turf Builder Quick + Thick Sunny mix. It does have a small amount of fertilizer in it.
  4. Top dress with Scott's Lawn Soil which also has a small amount of fertilizer in it.
  5. Water once daily in the mornings for about 30 minutes to get a deep soak

Does anyone have tips on how to prevent the lawn from dying every year? Should I maybe cover the area before the first snow fall?
