Fewer baby movements since GD diet

Has anyone else experienced fewer baby movements since they got diagnosed and moved onto a GD diet? I’m assuming it’s because she’s getting less sugar now, but she used to move around like crazy and now much less so. I have been in for monitoring just to check she’s ok and all is well! Just wondered if anyone else has same experience.

Classmates asking to be boyfriend / girlfriend

After school today, my 9 year old daughter asked me for a private chat (away from sister and husband). She told me that 2 boys in her class had asked her to be their girlfriend and what should she do. I didn’t quite know how to respond! I asked how it made her feel, and she shrugged and said a bit embarrassed, but she seemed a little giddy about it maybe. I said well I think you’re a bit young for a boyfriend, and she agreed. Then we got called over by my husband for ice cream so were interrupted.

I plan to revisit the conversation tomorrow with her. What do I say? I am quite sure it’s very innocent boyfriend / girlfriend stuff, but I’m still uncomfortable with it at her age and want to discourage it. Is there any way it could be damaging for me to do so? I’m worried she’ll just not tell me things if I am too judgemental.

Any good diabetic cake recipes?

We tried a diabetic cheesecake recipe today and the result was disappointing. Tasted like slightly creamy, eggy quiche. Has anyone found a good recipe for a dessert type thing?

Incredibly intense cravings

Help! I was only diagnosed on Monday so I’m not very far into dietary changes. I failed GTT by 0.3mmol/mm (8.1 when cut off is 7.8 for GD). Since then, I’ve swapped to all brown versions of carbs, lowered but not cut carbs out, cut out any sugary treats and upped protein and fibre a lot. I eat about 5-6 times a day, prefer smaller portions more often over large meals. I felt fine the first few days but suddenly I feel absolutely starving and craving all the things I’m not supposed to have. When will this pass? I am up at 2am having a snack because I can’t sleep, head hurts, starving. I know that’ll probably ruin my morning fasting test.
