I've run out of Noxzema (Classic) cleansing cream, and I see it's pricier than silver on Amazon.fr. Does anyone have a reliable source and/or replacement? Local to Paris is preferable, obviously, but I'll take all ideas.

Hello all - I'm a US citizen heading over to France at the end of this month, for at least a year, and I'm not sure of the best choice for mobile service. I like my Google Pixel 3a and would prefer to keep using it, and I'm looking hard at Orange's eSIM options right now.

What I'm unclear on, besides value for service, is whether an eSIM is even the best option for a long stay, and whether there will be lots of pesky details to anticipate - e.g. will I continue to be charged for incoming texts or calls on my existing prepaid Verizon service? And should I cancel that after the eSIM activates?

I do plan to leave France to travel briefly in the Netherlands in June, and would like coverage there too, and anywhere else in Europe that I decide to go while I'm here.

*ADDED: I wouldn't mind keeping my current number since it's tied to so many apps and accounts, but is that possible? If not, I'll just have to go into each app/account and change it. But does that mean paying another month for my Verizon service for the overlap? Methinks yes.

*Also, I have a physical SIM card from my last trip in 2025 - can I hang onto that and re-up or has the window closed?

I just received my VLS-TS and am looking at airfares now. I have my eye on a nonstop that leaves on Monday 5/25 arriving 5/26 at CDG, but my visa start date is 5/29 (I'd requested 6/1).

Has anyone arrived in France with a visa due to start a few days later? Any trouble?

Otherwise, what's the right French gov't office to adress my question to? Or would that be a big red flag to them?

UPDATE: Found and nabbed an airfare I can live with for May 29, arriving May 30, all good, as that's one day after official start. Thanks for the hive wisdom. En avant !!... jusqu'au prochain imprévu 😉
