Advice pls ! UC overpayment

need your advice pls

My spouse is here in England on a spouse visa . Immediately he got here last year I reported to UC and got him all set up

He got a part time job in Feb started on Feb 3 and when we tried to report through his account on Feb 5 , it seems his account had been deactivated. Whe i researched it seems this is common for spouse visa accounts and he wasn’t able to log in.

So I then reported through my own online account journal and was told he had to report through his online account of which I explained back then that he had no access. I then called up and was told to tell him to call

He then calls and was put on hold for a long time so I think he said he would try again later and I didn’t put much importance to it because I believed UC had his Ni number and the earnings would be automatically reported through HMRC RTI .

I am just checking my statements as I need to print them out for something else and I have seen the earnings Feb - march didn’t actually come through the RTI ( our fault . I know . Should have really pushed the call though😭) and seems I may have been overpaid by £400 for the two months he worked which I’m more than happy to pay back

Anything about UC I’m super anxious and my anxiety is always through the roof because I just don’t like the stress and worry that comes with UC? I want to send a journal message now but I’m just worried about them calling it fraud or sanction ?

He worked for only Feb- March a part time job so the overpayment would likely be for March and April

I know no one knows what they could say definitely but any similar experiences?

Thank you
