Not sure if this is genetic drift, cross pollination, a soil or nutrient issue or what.
The past couple of years I’ve only been growing the neon afghans as seen in the first slide and all of them have always had that super vibrant pink color. This year however most blooms so far have ranged from a pale lavender to almost but not quite white (behind the pink one) and the pink one pictured is the only one with that color so far this year.
Everything pictured came from the same seed stock collected last year. I suppose it could be cross pollination even though I haven’t grown anything else in a few years because there is a small commercial flower farm about a mile away and bees travel. I also changed setups this year moving from large pots with uniform potting soil to raised beds with all new soI’ll improved with compost. 🤷 IDK and i guess I will see what the next week or so brings as the rest of them bloom.
