Found in a vintage clothing shop.

I've had this Seiko A628-5020 for a couple of years now but it's been in storage for a while because I couldn't find the recommended battery for it, which is the long discontinued XR9527. I came across a few threads online saying that it's possible to use MT920 as a replacement, which I got and installed yesterday. It's been charging since... I think it's charging ok but the display has been flashing like this, which is obviously not ok. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
