Little Shop of Horrors Audition Help
Hi everyone! Next month, I’ll be auditioning for Seymour in Little Shop. This is one of my ultimate dream roles, so I want to be as prepared as possible. I’ve seen him played in numerous different ways, and I’m looking for advice as to what makes a truly great Seymour. Sometimes he is played with a NY accent or somewhat nasal way of speaking, and sometimes without (sometimes it carries over into his singing, whereas sometimes it only applies to his speaking voice). Sometimes, he’s an incredible singer and other times, he’s intentionally a bit more “average.” Because he can be played in different ways, what tips do you have for me to really nail this audition?
