Which wheel? Valo-gt or savu pro

I’m looking to replace my g920 wheel with the simucube 3 base. Probably the pro, the ultimate seems very expensive but somehow people are still very positive about it in reviews so I’m thinking on it. I just really don’t need all that torque 😂 but I do like the idea of having The latest and greatest tech on offer.

My main concern is the wheel choice though, I have no experience with other brands, I just know that my Logitech wheel doesn’t have enough buttons, switches and dials to program all the functions and features that I want.

I’m racing in VR too which adds another layer of complexity in my choice. Not only do I need enough buttons on my wheel, I also have to be able to find them blindly as I can’t see my actual wheel. It also takes away the need to get a wheel with a display built in as I can’t see that display anyway, as I’ve stopped bothering trying to setup the passthrough feature Using quest 3.

I like the idea of staying with a round wheel but the savu pro is also very appealing to me.

Are there any “buyer be aware” kind of things for either wheel? Things you only found out after purchase that you wish you knew before? Anyone here has both who can tell me the pro and cons of either wheel? Any good reviews to be found on either wheel? Which do you think is best to use in VR?

Right now after about a year of simracing I’m 2700ir with my Logitech g920 wheel. I replaced the Logitech pedals because the throttle kept getting stuck at 5 or 10%, so I changed those out for an active ultimate pedal with 2 passive pedals about 3 months ago. Had some calibration issues with my passive pedals during the massive heatwave but customer support was amazing so I’m happy to keep buying into the simucube eco system. I could climb higher with my current setup but after a rough and eventful month (and some tough weeks still ahead) I’ve decided to treat myself to a decent wheel and base. I mean it would be nice to actually feel things through my wheel and not just rely on audio and visual cues the game gives me for certain scenarios. My rig will be disassembled for the better part of the next month so would be nice to build it back up with a new wheel and base.

Renderer bar in iRacing VR

My question is; why is my renderer so high in VR?

My CPU should easily be able to render this, and the renderer bar doesn’t necessarily need to be this high in VR. CPU utility and load is only at 25% according to the various performance indicators.

I have a 9950x3d, use process lasso, got the bios setup correctly to prefer the frequency CCD for everything unless I’ve told project lasso to force it onto the cache ccd. Which is only iRacing and virtual desktop right now. game is running on the right CCD as project lasso shows that cache ccd is running and frequency ccd is asleep when I play.

In the images you can see the difference between running in vr and not. Both Google AI and ChatGPT told me to look into the FullyWaitForSync setting in the app.ini (directx11 file or openxr file) of iRacing, but that’s not it. It doesn’t exit, and if i add it like suggested it doesn’t do anything.

Anyone has any idea what’s going on here? Game runs perfectly fine, is this a visual glitch? I’m probably just nit picking, as VD overlay shows perfectly healthy latency’s for the game and the game runs perfectly fine. But when I change frame rates the renderer bar just adjust to that chosen frame rate and it just holds at the minimum needed amount of renderer time.

Is there anyway for me to get this renderer bar/number somewhat lower so there is a bit more headroom so it’s not constantly balancing on the edge of the minimum render time needed for 90fps.

System specs;
9950x3d
5070ti
32gb ddr5
2,5gb Ethernet port on motherboard (to lazy to find mb name)
No overclocks or undervolts.
All bloatware deleted, followed every optimising guide, and then found my own things that worked best for me and system is basically only used for iRacing so everything is tuned towards that working as good as possible.

Dedicated 6ghz router
Meta quest 3
Virtual desktop.

Don’t look at network latencies, I’ve moved the rig, pc and router around. So things are places not so ideally and I’m testing some different network settings with regards to bandwidth. Think i prefer 320mhz over 180 unlike what AI suggested.
