I'm new to investing, but started investing in VOO as my core about a month ago, and I'm trying to wrap my head around this SpaceX IPO and how it's going to affect S&P500 indexes. From what I gathered, it's entering the exchange overvalued, and because of the changes to the rules about qualifying for the index, it's basically going to be added to every top US and tech index, and have a huge share of the weighted indexes. Because it's overvalued, it's going to cause a drop in all the funds that are forced to buy into it after the market corrects the price, so would it make sense to pause investments in these funds when the IPO drops and not resume until after the correction? Again, I'm fairly new to investing, and while I understand that this is a new rule and the market is somewhat unpredictable already, does anyone have any thoughts or are able to explain what I'm getting at better? Also, apologies if I've used incorrect terms, hopefully it makes enough sense. Thank you!
