Don’t let your pup eat corn cobs 🙃.
To preface this I didn’t know my 6.5 month golden retriever ate one, he must have found it at my dad’s place because we never eat corn at our house. He was fine until he wasn’t.
I thought he caught a stomach bug and took him to the vet to find out he actually had an intestinal blockage and needed emergent surgery. I had to drive from one emergency vet to an animal hospital. He waited all night for surgery because he was more stable than the other pets, and just before he was supposed to have surgery he shockingly passed the corn cobs himself in his stool. They kept him another night for monitoring and he’s doing amazing. I’m just about to go pick him up to bring him home. I can’t believe this whole ordeal. This is my first golden and my border collies never tried to eat weird things so I never even would have guessed that corn cobs are so dangerous:

Long story short they are completely indigestable and even if chewed up they can still cause a blockage and be deadly. Please be so careful. Happy pup parenting yall!

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if anything helped to over come it.

I was on compounded semaglutide for about 8 months when I plateaued and was getting tired of side effects (constipation being the worst). I had lost 30 pounds with that. I switched to compounded tirzepatide through the same provider and at first it was amazing. Less side effects, worked so much better, started consistently losing 1.5ish pounds a week again. By the end of the first month I noticed I was losing my s*x drive as well as just felt emotionally flat. But I felt like it was mild and just pushed through since I knew I wouldn’t stay at a high dose forever and I was getting closer to my goal weight. Then I got a puppy which triggered severe anxiety/depression from the stress of it combined with strain it put on my marriage. I basically had to back off of the tirzepatide because I was so stressed out I just wasn’t eating and I dropped about 10 pounds fast. So I was down 20 pounds on tirzepatide. I started taking it every 2 weeks and lowering my dose and I noticed that when I dosed myself my anxiety felt much worse and I felt really sad and just unable to motivate to do anything and would cry a lot but by the end of the week when the dose had worn off my anxiety meds were working, I slept better, and my mood was much more positive. Even with cutting way back on my dose (originally was at 11mg, now down to 5mg) I’m still having depression like symptoms and it’s honestly miserable. I love that way it has helped my body in every other way but the depression is hard to manage. My pcp actually wanted me to start on an antidepressant but I adamantly refused because the last time I went on one I gained weight and I worked so hard to lose weight this time and gaining weight will only make me feel worse. I also don’t feel depressed every single day, just some days, and worse the first couple days post injection.

Has anyone else struggled with this and if so did anything help it get better?

Hi all, I have a 19 week old golden retriever puppy that is heavily teething.

I need recommendations for chews that your puppy LOVES that will keep them distracted when I need him to be entertained for like 20-30 minutes. The only thing I’ve found that he truly loves is bully sticks but they give him super soft poops so I limit how often he gets them. He really loves the puppy benebones but I want him to have more options so I can mix it up.

Also for other distractions:
Food dispensing toys are hard because we have struggled with ants so much with his kibble so I’m reluctant to utilize that.
He also has zero interest in peanut butter so far. Lick mats and frozen topples only keep him entertained if I’m nearby otherwise he loses interest. I bought a pupsicle but the premade balls I think are made with peanut butter so he again had no interest lol
