Platelets v whole blood questions

So, I make too many red blood cells as a result of some meds. To combat this, I donate blood every 8-12 weeks or so. It's been working well for about two years now. I have O+ blood. I keep getting asked to donate platelets, but I have some concerns.

  1. Since red blood cells and platelets are different, will donating platelets affect my ability to donate whole blood?

  2. I am pretty well wrecked about giving blood. Unfortunately, I somehow also have low iron. It takes about 48 hours to get back to baseline even with extra supplements, carbs, protein, and hydration. Will platelets be the same?

  3. Is platelets donation done with one arm or two? I know it's two needles, but I'm not sure how I would do if both arms were out of commission. I tend to have a strong vasavagal reaction to the sensation of the needle and have to stay very still. I used to be completely needle phobic, and I've come s really long way, but I'm worried that might be too much.

Thanks so much for any guidance.

Need help with roofing issue

Reposted from r/roofing hope that's ok

Here is a shitty drawing of my stupid house, head on, with its two separate attics, and then a drawing of what the company did.

Backstory: Ok. My house is dumb. I know. We tease it was built with meth and a dream. Nothing is up to code and every contractor who shows up to fix something has said "well that's a choice." But it was all we could afford, and we are trying to fix as we can.

Our unfinished attics gets so damn hot. So, we reached out to a roofer company that got fantastic reviews. They went in the attics. They told us the best thing to do was put in two attic fans (bc the attic on either side is not connected to the other) and then an additional vent/soffit about halfway up on either side.

We were under the impression they were going to put the attic fans on the side portions of the roof. Asked multiple times bc we didn't think there would be any real circulation between the sides and the top, and it's the sides that are a problem bc even with great insulation, they impact room temps.

But the installers come out and put the fans directly on top. We call. They say it's fine and the electricians will come out in another day to hook them up and we will be able to see the difference in temp. Their electrician comes out and can't get to the wires. Second electrician comes out and says, basically, they'd have to uninstall the fans and drill more holes to get the wires to where they can reach. We say absolutely not bc we're still not sure it would work and don't want them fucking it up more.

Here's my question. At this point, what the hell do I even advocate for?? We went into this just looking at getting a uv coat for the roof. We haven't paid anything, and we've made it clear we don't intend to until it gets squared. But I don't even know what I should be asking for. Please help.

Edit to say we have access to the sides but not the top. That is the problem it seems.

Please help. Contractors botched things.
