Spelling sons name Austin
Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some advice before making a permanent decision.
My son is half Filipino through his mom, and I’d like to get his name tattooed in Baybayin as a way of honoring that part of his heritage. I’m white myself, so I want to make sure I’m approaching this respectfully and not ending up with something that’s inaccurate or comes across as appropriative or tacky.
I’ve attached one translation that one of the in laws provided but they said they weren’t positive on its accuracy.
I’ve found a few online Baybayin translators, but they all seem to give slightly different results, and I know Baybayin isn’t always a straightforward letter-for-letter conversion and more phonetic.
Would anyone be willing to help me figure out the most appropriate way to write his name? I’d really appreciate the guidance. Thanks!
