Smudging

My grandpa was adopted and didn’t find out about his birth family until much later in life. We weren’t connected to our Métis heritage for a really long time.

Is there a specific way you have to smudge? I’ve sort of created my own based on our own family stories.

  1. Rinse hands
  2. Carry to my head and heart
  3. Three times all over from top to bottom (the number three is significant to my family)

Is that wrong???? I don’t want to look inappropriate or stupid. It feels right to me but I can change if I’m being disrespectful

Korean connections?

Looking to make some (any) sort of connection to my Korean side. I’m disconnected from that half of my family and would like to have some positive experiences. Open to food/shopping/events etc!

Knit/crochet donations?

I’m an avid crafter but I want to make with a purpose. I’m by no means excellent, but capable.
I’m having trouble finding specifically WHERE I could donate any goods. Open to any type of need (blankets, scarves, etc). Thanks!

Toddler bowling

Does anyone know which alleys specifically have the slide thing that toddlers can use to push the ball down the lane? Thanks!

We live in Canada. 31F, Korean/Indigenous/English. Co-sleeping is still not the norm here.

I just had the epiphany that co-sleeping is truly healing me. It’s MY way of connecting to culture that I have been disconnected from. It feels like reclaiming what is natural and connected.

Every now and then I worry about when to move our 22mo out of our bed/room/sidecar crib situation. This has been really impactful for me because through research of Korean and Indigenous cultural practices, it’s reaffirming that I don’t need to worry.
