Help with shoes. Can't find shoes that fit

I've been fitted as women's 8.5D

I've been wearing New Balance 840 size 8.5 regular width, but they aren't a perfect fit. They slip at the heels and are uncomfortable to wear for a few months until I wear them in.

I recently went to a running shoe store and they fitted me for Hoka Clifton 11 women's 8.5D. They felt just ok in the store, but I've only worn them a couple times because they are so uncomfortable. I don't feel stable in the shoe, it feels like my foot slips everywhere and the pressure points are in odd places. My heel slips in it too.

I also recently got Topo Phantom 4 size 8.5D. This feels terrible. It feels like only half of my arch is being supported and the inner half is falling off the sole. Similar to how it feels to wear women's strappy high heel sandals in a width that is too small. The heels on this slip too.

I know about the tying method to keep my heel from slipping, but that seems to sacrifice flexibility in my foot when I walk and causes pain. I have plantar fasciitis and a history of a tailor's bunion on my left foot. I've had surgery on the bunion but the scar still bothers me so I can't stand shoes that put any pressure on that area. On the right foot I have a history of sesamoiditis.

Here are the pictures of my feet measurement. I believe the person that traced my right foot traced it a bit wide and long so the left foot measurement is probably more accurate.

I need shoes mostly for walking and breathable enough to wear for 13 hours. I know I'll never find a perfect fit but if someone can help me find something close I would be so grateful.

2026 Bingo - Two Mini-Reviews

Ghostsmith by Nicki Pau Preto - This is the second book in the House of the Dead Duology. Wren, Julian, and Leo are back in the Breach trying to stop an undead army while being pursued by Wren's father. The first book had a few flaws, but I enjoyed it enough to continue to the second book. Unfortunately, this book isn't as good as the first. I found myself not really caring about what was going on in the story. Supposedly tense moments never feel tense because you know that Wren and her friends are going to succeed in the end. The stakes never seem high even though they should be. Wren is also reunited with her brother and I found myself not caring much for that even though sibling relationships are one of my favorite things to read about in books. Then everything is wrapped up so perfectly at the end just as you assume it will be. I think if you really like sarcastic kick-ass female protagonists and don't mind frequent info-dumping that you might enjoy the books, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend them.

Bingo Squares: Afterlife (HM), Duology Part 2, Politics

Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett - I'm reading the Discworld novels in order. This is the 3rd book in the series and very different from the first two books. The first books were very chaotic without much of a plot, but this was a real story. I've seen many people recommend starting at the 4th book because that's where Pratchett starts to find his groove. Based on how much I enjoyed this book, I'm really looking forward to the fourth one.
