Seattle Transit Pin Collection

It took quite a while to pull all this together, I've been a little hyperfixated😅😅

Mostly Metro & Sound Transit, but I've gathered a lot of ferry, monorail, and other WA state transit pins along the way

If you have any neat pins feel free to post them in the comments!! It's really hard to find any information on this since it's so niche, and I'm always curious what else is out there. I also have a fair amount of duplicates if anyone would be interested in trading!!

My near-perfect gluten free bread machine recipe!

I am sure you have eaten store-bought gluten free bread. It is not great. I have spent the last year experimenting with a bread machine for gluten-free baking, with the following goals in mind:

  • Something without immensely complicated prep - I want to avoid kneading dough and going through four stages of prep. My goal was something easy I only need to spend 30 minutes making.
  • A loaf that's not too dense, but still has structure. NO HUGE HOLES!!!!!
  • Slices that are actually large, and can fit a good amount of stuff without collapsing.
  • Something that will last long enough that a single person can eat it without it getting stale/gross/moldy by the end of the loaf.
  • Something reproducible that actually tastes good, and wouldn't disgust you if you're eating a plain slice.

After a lot of experimentation and research, I've landed on something I'm very happy with. It's not PERFECT:

  • It's maybe a tad bit denser than I'd like, although it is very close
  • It does use celiac-safe gluten-removed wheat starch, which I know is not an option for those with wheat allergies. I have not tried with alternative flours, but I would like to eventually.

However, for my needs, it has essentially solved my bread problems, and turned it into a nice easy thing I can do once a week that actually tastes like food! I will post the recipe in the comments.

Cool old Nintendo pins

I found these in a box of old pins I was looking through, the North Bend Distribution Center one seems especially cool to me

I can't find much information about them though 😅 I'm assuming it's from the late 80s - mid 90s, but I'm not 100% sure when that specific Mario design was in use

What modern, portable super telephoto camera setups exist in 2026?

Budget: Ideally 2-4k USD, curious about higher end if nothing exists in that range

Country: US

Condition: New or used

Type of Camera: Mirrorless, bridge

Intended use: Wildlife photography, birds

If photography; what style: Wildlife, street

What features do you absolutely need: Portability, decent sensor size, decently modern AF, high telephoto zoom ability (500mm+ full frame equivalent, ideally 800mm+)

What features would be nice to have: viewfinder, eye detection AF

Portability: How portable does it need to be? Backpack

Cameras you're considering: Sony RX10 IV seems fairly close to what I want, but I'm not sure how the sensor size would compare to what I currently have

Cameras you already have: Nikon 1 V3 with Nikon 1 70-300mm - lens is great but prone to failures, autofocus seems fairly dated, sensor is (relatively) small

To give a bit of background, I really love the Nikon 1 V3 because it's insanely portable and has 800mm full frame equivalent zoom, but it shows its age in a lot of ways that have started to annoy me - especially Autofocus. I understand that the reason the 70-300mm can be so light is because of the 2.7 crop factor, but are there any similar setups on more modern systems that aren't a dead end?

The Sony RX10 IV seems close, and I know that the RX10 V just got announced, but I'm also curious if there's any mid-high end mirrorless equivalents.

My dream setup would have:

* Modern eye-detection AF for birds in flight

* A sensor that isn't tiny (minimum of one inch, ideally as big as possible though)

* 800mm-1000mm max focal length

* Portability, enough to fit in a backpack

But I'm not sure if something like this exists
