Frequent internet cutoff in hostel

Why does COEP have such bright ideas (reducing bandwidth in hostels so they can get better internet in college). Just how cheap can a college get that it doesn't want to provide both college and hostels with decent internet and improving one side fucks the other. There's enough money with clg to buy more bandwidth (enough for good internet everywhere) but these fucking kanjoos ppl won't ever do that.

Just because they require good internet in college cause of graduation ceremony livestream, they're cutting off internet to hostels so they can show the livestream without internet issues. They don't wanna show how bad the actual internet situation is in COEP and this is those kanjoos MFS solution.

Welcome to the COEP Technological University admission megathread! To keep the subreddit clean, all questions regarding admission chances, branch-specific cutoffs, and the CAP process must be posted here. Individual posts on these topics will be removed.

1. The Basics of COEP Admissions:

  • Intake Split: 80% of seats are reserved for MHT-CET (Maharashtra State candidates), and 20% are for JEE Main (All India quota).
  • Counseling: All admissions happen via the DTE/CET Cell CAP Rounds. COEP does not have a management quota.
  • Fees & Eligibility: Please refer to the Official COEP Admission Portal.

2. Previous Year Cutoff Trends (General Category)

Note: Cutoffs vary significantly by category (OBC, SC, ST, EWS, TFWS). Ranks listed below are General-All India for JEE and Percentiles are General-Home State for MHT-CET

Note: These are 2025 figures. Actual 2026 cutoffs will vary based on paper difficulty and number of applicants. tables mainly based on CAP round 4.

Branch MHT-CET (%) (GOPENS) JEE Main (%)
Computer Engineering 99.6725154 98.7199340
AI & Machine Learning 99.4805648 98.6650524
ENTC Engineering 99.5546231 98.4820472
Electrical Engineering 99.3595406 97.9349691

(you can find the exact cutoffs for last year here: https://www.coeptech.ac.in/admissions/admitted-students-for-ay-2025-26/ )

3. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: I have [X] percentile. Will I get COEP? A: Admission depends on the "Cutoff Rank" for that specific year, not just the percentile. Refer to the table above. If you are within 0.1–0.2 percentile of last year's closing, you have a solid chance in later rounds.

Q: Does COEP accept JEE Mains for Maharashtra students? A: Yes, but you will be competing in the All India (AI) Quota (20% seats). Usually, it is better to apply via MHT-CET if you have a high score there.

Q: What is the "Spot Round"? A: After regular CAP rounds, if seats remain vacant, COEP conducts an institutional level "Spot Round." These are highly unpredictable but can be a huge help for those slightly below the cutoff.
