Anyone thinking of joining COEP through JEE in Spot?

Since spot students won't get hostels. I'm looking for anyone wants to join in spot so we can discuss about pg/flat

Urgent Advise Needed

COEP E&TC + VLSI vs CS/IT — need some advice

I’ve scored enoughto have a shot at COEP E&TC and PICT CSE, and I’m confused between E&TC and CS/IT.

I’m interested in electronics/chips, so I’m considering:

COEP E&TC → learn VLSI → prepare for GATE → maybe M.Tech in VLSI from a good institute → semiconductor industry.

The other option is CS/IT, get placed after B.Tech and start earning around age 22.

I know CS placements are generally better, but entry-level software jobs seem pretty competitive these days. At the same time, I’m not sure if I’m overestimating the future of VLSI/semiconductors.

My family is financially stable, so I don’t really have pressure to start earning immediately. I’m also willing to put in the work.

So what would you choose if you were in my position?

Would COEP E&TC → VLSI → GATE/M.Tech be worth the extra 2 years, or is CS/IT + software job the smarter choice?

Would especially appreciate advice from people already in VLSI/ECE/software.
