Switching from d2h to Airtel Fiber (IPTV): How is the Xstream Box for parents?
Hey everyone,
We're installing home Wi-Fi and planning to replace our separate d2h connection with the Airtel IPTV / Xstream Box to save on monthly bills.
Before committing, I want to make sure the TV experience is smooth for my parents:
- Live TV Navigation: Can you switch channels directly using number keys and
Ch +/-buttons on the remote like traditional d2h, or do you have to navigate through OTT app menus? - STB Performance: Does the Xstream Box's Android Software run smoothly over time, or does it lag/freeze after extended daily use while using OTT apps?
- Ads & Startup: Is there heavy home-screen clutter/ads when you turn on the box, or can you jump straight into live TV?
- Picture & Audio Quality: How is the live channel quality and channel switching speed compared to regular satellite DTH? Or Jio's IPTV is better? (Jio has JioLiveTV/TV+ right?)
Would love honest feedback from anyone using the Airtel IPTV box for their family. Thanks!
Getting JioFiber: Is the Jio STB good enough to replace traditional d2h for parents?
Hey everyone,
I'm installing home Wi-Fi and since combining broadband + IPTV is way cheaper than keeping our separate d2h bill, I'm planning to replace our d2h box with the Jio STB (Optic Fiber).
And also Interested More in Jio Rather than Airtel due to Freedom offer,
Bcs airtel started me to force for an airfiber.
Since the long-term plan needs a big upfront payment (Jio's Freedom Plan of 18 months ~₹14k total), I want to be 100% sure about the TV experience first:
- Jio STB Performance: Is the box laggy/slow, or does it run smoothly over time? And Will The Apps work perfectly for Long-term?
- Ads & Bloatware: Is the home screen heavily cluttered with ads/apps, or can you jump straight into live channels easily?
- Usability for Parents: Coming from d2h, is changing channels on JioLiveTV/JioLiveTV+ simple enough for parents using the remote?
- Reliability: How is the live channel stability compared to traditional satellite DTH? And also Airtel's IPTV?
Would love quick feedback from current users. Thanks!
Unable to Find Traditional Antenna DTH for Rs.699 Plan of DTH+Fiber
I Tried hard, and searched everywhere in offline stores available in my city.
But im unable to find Traditional DTH, so it leaves me with only 1 option... i.e to Install an IPTV.
So guys, Is IPTV That Bad? As compared to Traditional DTH? Currently Using D2h.
Hie
Achanak yeh r/ ka yaad aagya 🥀💔😻 Aur Ignore 'n' number times ho gya 🥺
Airtel Black (Fiber+Dth) ₹699 Plan... Got Some doubts..?
Don't we Get Normal Traditional DTH with it?
When I did Enquire About the Plan on Call, They said we don't Service Traditional DTHs Anymore, Only IPTV is available...
And I forgot to Enquire about the Fiber weather It's Airfiber or Optic Fiber...(I also Know Airfiber is Shit, and I also don't want that too, So Optic Fiber is prefered...), (and I know the fact that Traditional DTHs are still available, It's Just a Strategy To Sell IPTVs more)
For those Who will say: Bro, then your Location Don't have DTH services; Guys I used to had Airtel's dth from 2008 to 2017... Currently on d2h, but again planning to switching to Airtel because I want to Install Fiber this time and it will be Cheaper option too as im tight on my Monthly Expenses...(Under Max ₹850 For an Optic Fiber + Traditional DTH)
As I need Fiber for my studies...
OnePlus Nord CE6 128GB at 35k NOW, or Samsung S26 Ultra in 2027 after the launch of S27 Series Under 90k-1L?
Guyss! For the New Phone My Budget is max 33k-35k In Present... That too I feel CE6 with 128GB UFS 3.1 is Very Overpriced compared to the Nord 4 That i Purchased at 25k (8+256 variant with UFS 4.0)...
SO THE REAL QUESTION IS: Should i Pull the Trigger Now with CE6, or wait for a yr And get an S26 Ultra for cheap under 90k~1L? Because im Sure, My Parents will allow me to get an S26U next Year At the time of my College. And i really Love that Phone too.
Because Im low Confident About S26 Ultra pricing Under 90k... and i Think i can Use my Present Phone (OPPO F15 Purchased At Feb 2020 Originally for my Mom) with 65% Battery Health for an Another Yr...
And im Damn sure im not gonna buy iPhone 17 in 2027 (Even After it will be VFM at 60-65k) Bcs My Dad alr uses it and My Brother is also gonna Buy the Same Phone in Few weeks at his bday... and 3 Same Model Phones in the family of 4 will Create confusion too and ill feel Bored. 😭
The Story: I got a nord 4 in 2025, but gave it to my Mom Because Her Phone Had Low storage and started to lag bcs of the full storage... Btw Me with My 256GB storage phone Had only filled 57GB/256GB... so i took my Mom's Phone with 128GB and using it Right now And its filled only 62GB/128GB and i wont be Using Social Media Apps for a yr for my Stuides... and gave my Nord 4 to my mom. Now Almost 60% Of the Phone's storage is Free.
Which Is The Best Earbuds Around 1k INR?
Buying New Earbuds As My CMF Buds' Left Bud Gives Terrible Battery Backup (10-20 Mins) and Right Bud (Around 1½hr).
(Budget Is Tight Around ~1000INR, Looking for VFM Earbuds)
Confused Between These Options:
Realme T110: ₹1149 (Black-Yellow Color, Which i Like The Least)
Soundcore R50i VI: ₹1099
Realme T200: ~₹1600 (Would Be Too Expensive For Me)
Realme T200x: ₹1349
Boat Airdopes 141 Elite ANC: ₹1299
For Me, ANC is Just a Good To Have Feature. I don't Use It Regularly. So ANC is Not a MUST-HAVE Feature For Me, But Still if it has, then It's Good, If Not, Still It's Good).
(I don't Need Dual Pairing too)
And I'm Gonna Use Earbuds Just for a Yr Minimum... Sweet Spot Would Be 1½ Yr, Not More Than That.
My Usage will Be Listening to Songs (Mostly Pop) Outdoor for an Hr... And Watching Long Study Lectures Daily (Around 4 Hours Non Stop)
My Devices With Which I Use My Earbuds:
Phone: OPPO F15 (Running On Android 11)
Laptop: HP 14s LTE (2020, Running On Windows 11)
