Worcester to Woods Hole?
Hi MV community! My parents live year round in Martha's Vineyard and I visit every summer. I live on the west coast now but went to college in Worcester. I typically fly into Boston, take the train to Worcester, spend a few days in Worcester with my friends, and then make my way to Woods Hole to spend a week with my family.
Getting from Worcester to Woods Hole is always extremely frustrating. Occasionally I can find a friend who wants to visit, so they can drive me. But otherwise it's a train into Boston and then a bus to Woods Hole. Are there any alternatives that I'm missing? Is there still nothing that connects Worcester directly to a port?
I'm on a budget but trying to find the balance between what my time is worth and what I'm willing to pay. For example, I'd be willing to splurge on a hi-speed ferry ticket if there was a bus directly from Worcester to a different port than Woods Hole.
An uber would be $200-300... at that point should I just rent a car for the day? Any tips to do this cheaply?
My parents drive their cars on- and off-island whenever they leave so they know nothing about transportation options. Really hoping some natives can help me see what I'm missing here 🙏
