Just putting this right here, in case someone cares

I did a lot of research trying to ship a car from Oregon to Texas. I used uShip, CarDirect, and several other companies that were mentioned in this group.

First, it’s really hard to know who is actually a carrier and who is a broker. When I started looking into making a reservation, I realized people were right: brokers charge you upfront, but then you’re expected to pay the carrier separately, often in cash, which I found a little weird.

It was also hard to get a clear pickup and delivery timeframe. Everything was basically an estimate. Most of the transport companies gave me a pickup window of 1–5 business days and a delivery estimate of 5–10 days, but it was still difficult to know when the car would actually arrive.

Most companies also had mixed reviews, so I wasn’t sure what to believe.

Long story short, the cheapest quote I received was around $2,000.

I decided to fly to Oregon, pick up the car myself, and drive it back to Texas. Yes, I put about 2,000 miles on the car, but my total cost—including the flight, gas, and hotels—was only $522.

Yes, it was hard. You’re putting in your own time and effort to save money. But at the same time, when there’s so much uncertainty with shipping, I figured it might be worth doing it myself.

You do you—I just wanted to share my experience and the actual cost of doing it this way in case it helps someone else.

Cheers!

Have you noticed Waze time to destination always increases?

Had the opportunity to test Google maps and Waze Maps at the same time to the same destination, same speed, same car, same start while Waze apparently gives you a better route, the time always increases, even if you are over the speed limit, at the end both G and W ended up with the same time. In other words Waze is a scam

Question to a former CC Barista

Only answer if there are no legal implications but does anyone know how is the XL Hot Mocha Milk Chocolate made?

I have been a huge fan of CC and that is my way to go drink. If I buy it in MN it tastes amazing, but if I buy in other locations out of state it does not taste the same way. As I am traveling often for work I am wondering what makes this drink so good that no other place can replicate. Thanks
