Hello! I recently took a glass fusing class at Glass Ripples down in Davis and loved it! I want to explore the hobby more on my own but don’t want to invest in a whole kiln.
Does anyone know of any glass fusing/mosaic studios nearby so that I could go and work on my projects at my own pace without necessarily taking a class?
Maybe this has been asked a thousand times over, but I got some 32 oz grain spawn jars that I inoculated with GT and then some with APE and it’s been about ~10 days w temp at like 75-78 and there’s barely any colonization from the APE and only a little from the GT. What’s an expected timeline? When should I start to worry?
Is there any sort of mycology club in the camberville area? Would love to grow this hobby in a way that builds more community :)
This is my first grow so pls bear with me! I used the uncle bens tek and then did spawn to bulk and followed the tip of leaving them alone for about 2 weeks. After week two I opened my bin up to see very little colonization on the top layer of the substrate but noticed it was pretty dry in there. So, I started misting it every other day (I know, huge mistake bc I introduced fruiting conditions). However, I was so surprised to start seeing pins soon thereafter. Is this common even if the top layer has little to no colonization? Does it just reduce the flush size?
