Why are the tiles in this area of Africa so comically dense compared to everywhere else?
You can see in the second image that these tiles can get to around 6-8 times denser than other areas. It's so jarring when you have to cross the border to Ethiopia/Mittelafrika.
I feel like this does nothing but make the supply situation infinitely worse compared to other places, make it much more difficult to progress through the area, make the game noticeably freeze when provinces there change hands, and make it equally as tedious to clean up leftover tiles.
What I want to know is why it was made this way at all. All I could find about this is that apparently one of the devs reworked the tiles here, and it stuck with the game to this day.
